Dawnguard Rushed.......

Do yu think Bethesda should stop rushing their games to meet their original appointed deadline and stop "cutting content" or do you prefer how they have been doing it so far?

Edit: Also tell me what you would change to make the dlc more fun for everyone??

Well, it WOULD be nice if we didn't have to use console commands to get the Ancient Falmer Crown...

It would nice if this DLC didn't have so many bugs. For me at least.

Sure I would LOVE that, but doesn't mean Bethesda will change their practices.

Quality is out the window, it's all about the almighty $$$$$$$. It seems to be a theme lately that is really starting to piss me off. It's no wonder I haven't bought a new game in 7 months.

Cutting content?

Only things they cut were the ancient falmer helm and castle upgrades which they really didnt since fort dawnguard upgrades little by little when you do the quests and Castle Volkihar, you can open the path to the garden, can't really do much to fix up a fancy castle which already looks better than all the other player homes.

They gave us everything they promised, people ASSUMED werebear and spears and what not were gonna come with it.

I would hold back on assuming they didn't cut anything out either. There is pleanty cut out of Skyrim itself, until we get the PC version there is no way to know for sure. But there already is:

The reaper
The crown
The unfinished castle upgrades
The unused verlet they added in the DLC1 patch

Cut content is almost always inevitable with any game, DLC is no different. Though that doesn't mean Dawngaurd is lacking anything either. There is plenty to do and see.

The only thing I'm disappointed with is the lack of stuff to stand in your way. Look at the Soul cairn, the first time in I expected to be hacking my way through hoards of undead, facing an undead army. But all said and done, I really faced a total of 20ish NPC's trying to stop me from reaching my goal. I understand that there's limitations to how much can be in a single cell, but there have been situations in the past where I faced upwards of 30+ NPC's in the vanilla game( all be it, it was a very rare bug and fun all the same ) and the Xbox handled it like a champ

I feel the same, like only 3 enemies at a time in the Soul Cairn, although from all the lag I've got from the DLC recently I don't think the Xbox could handle more than 10 at a time.

Agreed! I want uber enemies that top-tier level 81 players struggle with. I don't care if it's inconsistent with the lore, just give me at least one challenge worth bragging about.

Well the DLC is great and playable as it is.

Would be nice if some things were added? Yes. But, I like how it is now too.

Bug fixes is all.

I'd just be happy with a fix for the fricken Vingalmo bugs. I love the vamp quests, and because of that dirty Knife Ears I can't do them anymore! :swear:
other than that? I'd like to see some more Heavy Armor added to the next DLC. The selection added in this were Crap in my opinion.

They have been cutting cool content out from everything I can remember back to Morrowind. Remember the Wings of the Queen of Bats axe that was only available through the construction kit? I loved that axe!

Content gets cut from any creative medium, it's part of the process. Despite some areas where DG stumbles, I still think it was the best first-round DLC that Beth has put out. I just hope that the trend of their first DLC release being the weakest holds true for Skyrim.

The one thing I really enjoy about a JRPG is often times the game has late game optional content that is challenging for high level characters. Always fun being level 99 and fighting a tough boss. Sometimes the battles can last a long time.

There's an Ancient Falmer Crown? To match the chest/gloves/feet?

Yes, it exists. As far as we know, it was cut. It is considered an accessory, not armor, and thereby provides no perk bonuses (not even Matching Set).

Thanks. Odd that they left it out, it matches the set nicely
