Dawnguard spells

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:01 am

It would be great to have a battle on water.
-swiftswiming
-waterwalking.

I also want an illusion paralyse. Plus a conjuration turn undead.

jump
Unlock
Lock
feather
Slowfall

Many, many conjurations. At least scamps, daedroth and clanfear. winged twilights would be cool.

Pure damage/magical damage spells. (green fire, red lightning.)

Isn't there supposed to be a shout called Soul Tear in Dawnguard which "rips the spirit of a slain enemy from its corpse to fight for the player" ?

I wonder if it will be an actual ghostly version of the slain enemy though, or just a generic spirit type critter.

Yeah, but I'm talking about actual spells that cost magicka, and don't have a cool down.

Weakness spells, Open Lock spells, Waterwalking, Conjuration spells, Cure Disease/Poison, Absorb/Drain spells. There's so much that should be in the game but were just neglected/ignored/never implemeneted.

Edited a few times: Also, considering there is no spell making in the game, I am surprised they also gutted the various levels of spells. There's only one level of Flames/Frostbite/Sparks, only one level of Rune spells, only one level of Cloaks, etc. Shouldn't there be at minimum 2-3 levels for each spell type so that they can be useful at higher levels as well, essentially making up for the lack of spellmaking at least somewhat?

The only summons we have that aren't artonachs or undead are Arniel's Shade and Familiar. That is a joke....I love how Necromancy was done in this game, but what about all the other summons we had? Oblivion had Wraiths, Ghosts, Liches, Xivilai, Scamp, Clannfear, tons of Skeletal types, Spiderlings, Daedroth, Spider Daedra, just to name some that Skyrim lacks.

I hope the devs have been hearing our cries on Magic and use the next DLC (Hearthfire?) to focus on magic specifically. Melee types got crossbows, and plenty of love in Vanilla. Now we want our love, give us more spell effects, new spell effects, more spell variety, and give us Spellmaking. PLEASE.

Cure Disease spells.

Yesyesyesyesyes. My character is a (almost) master of Restoration. He shouldn't have to buy cure disease potions like some magically inept peasant.

Back in oblivion I was the alteration master.
With my open lock spells and my feather spells I could carry anything and go anywhere.
Bethesda please bring them back.

The Dremora thrall was one spell I was shocked wasn't in the game. I mean, conjuration is weak as it is but at least that would have balanced out what little we did get.
You can summon dremora after the master conjuration quest or with sanguine's rose.

She/he's talking about a Dremora THRALL. As in a Dremora that you can summon that follows you around til death.

They only had Mark/Recall in Morrowind because they did not have a fast travel feature, i do not miss it much now we have fast travel.

I do however miss Silence and Blind

Fast travel does not replace mark and recall. Its not instant and you cant do it while encumbered or from caves and interiors.

I want a Scroll of Icarian Flight!!!
Oh and slowfall to go with it... and mark&recall for those time im at my carry limit and need to do some serious hauling..
Oh and a Dremore Thrall, i almost felt like the one who gives you the sigil stone was suppose to be one, but simply never was.
And possibly some sneak/crit damage, the "silent casting" perk is useless when them not hearing your spell means nothing.

Waterwalking and unlock are two out of those that I'd like but out of all of the schools, I feel conjuration (my favorite) got screwed.
Conjuration is lacking yes we need more of a variety if spells but the entire magic system got gutted not just one school. I hope that the next expansion pack adds spell creation and spells for for all the schools.

I think that they should necessarily make a water walking spell. but maybe if you use frostbite to freeze the top of the water, then you could walk on it. that shouldn't be too hard. Just script that every time the spell hits the script for water, it changes to an icy script and it becomes solid.

Also, with my want for mark and recall, i just want some travel powers. Mark & recall, levitate, summon dragon/horse, maybe some unique mounts like mammoth. idk. i dont a good pc, and i am still running the first model of 360. i would just like something cool like that to move around. because i feel like with fast traveling, you miss a lot of cool random encounters

a spell that makes a giant hand (soul or zombie) pop out of the ground and grab the enemy for a short stun, that would fit the theme very well in dawnguard

Night eye... how come the only way to get night eye is to become a vamp? its not easy being sneaky when you have to use a torch or magelight to see in dark areas. or they should implement the werewolf nighteye that is in the game files

Hey, Khajiit Exist too D:
I kind of like Night Eye not being a spell affect, gives something unique to Khajiit discluding Vampires and that "Vision of the tenth eye" spell.

OT : I would like all the old spells back though, especially Water walking, I want my Jesus boots back :o

Dawnguard does kinda look like Castlevania. o_o'
Or Van Helsing - I'd better make a Hugh Jackman character for it. :D

Well, it does focus heavily on vampire slaying. >.> Van Helsing is probably the most famous vampire slayer of them all, so it's not surprising that there are some similarities. :P

I think that, while I do believe that there aren't enough spells in Skyrim, the main problem with Oblivion's magic system was that there were too many, and very few of them were even slightly balanced... still, I'm sure that we can expect some more anti-undead spells in Dawnguard, since I doubt that the Dawnguard itself relies only on crossbows to slay vampires. And then, of course, possibly some others designed to slay the living.

I really, really hope there'll be some spell allowing the vampires to passwall through ice. New runes would be fine too...

Yes Bethesda... I'm telling you to sell me horse armor and spell creation for $10.

Well, only if there is a "bound horse armor" spell for our mount, then... :P

What I'd really like to see is to have all spells scale. Having different tiers of spells which are otherwise exactly the same makes little sense to me - especially with a perk system which could improve them.
