Dawnguard Sun damage

how does it work? can it be resisted? I want to know everything about this new spell effect :)
is it the same as morrowind/oblivion?

If it's anything like the vanilla effect, it probably just does the "decreased stats" and "no regeneration" stuff, which isn't too exciting. I don't have Dawnguard yet, though, so I have no way of checking at the moment.

Oh yes, I think there are new spells in Dawnguard that have something to do with the sun or sun damage or something like that. I'm not certain how this works, though.

These spells just damage health if target has actortypeundead keyword. The only new thing they have is visual effect

Seems right. Vanilla vampires get weaknesses on sunlight by some conditions, and these spells work the same way.

no they don't. I can use them in the soul cairn and apparently no sun is there.

I wonder if I could make them deal more/less damage depending on the target type, via Keywords possibly..

Don't know if this helps any but if you look under weather and check SkyrimClear Vs SoulCairnAmb01 there is a sun damage slider with it set to 1 Vs 0 respectively.
