Dawnguard Voice Actors

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:47 am

The most obvious one to me is Laura Bailey who voices Serana.
Theres a few of Vanilla Skyrim voice actors in the mix there as well.
James Lewis is the voice of Isran, Jeff Baker reprises his role as Jiub.
However one that eludes me the most is Harkon, any ideas who voices him?.

Harkon's voice actor? No idea.

Only thing I know about the voice actors in DG are, in addition to voicing Jiub, Jeff Baker also voices
Spoiler
the ghosts of the Snow Elf priests in the Forgotten Vale.
I'm pretty sure it's him, the voice sounds very similar to the voice he used for male Imperials in Morrowind and some characters in Fallout 3.

Another thing I know about the DG voice acting is the guards' accents (same 3 voice actors) when mentioning DG specific rumours are a bit thicker than they are on the original dialogue.

I wonder who voices Gelebor, there's a guy in Castle Volkihar with that same actor aswell.
He sounds similar to a voice actor in Dragon Age, but I don't think it's the same voice actor. I can't recall the name of the NPC I'm thinking of.

Does anyone know who voices Gunmar? He doesn't sound like anyone in vanilla.

I'm almost certain Harkon is voiced by the vanilla actor who does the carriage drivers. Very similar in certain verbal tics and accent.

Does anyone else have a problem with Beleval not being fully voiced? Like when you speak to her when she's following you the subtitles say "I'm still here" but her lips don't move and there are no voices? There are no Bosmer followers in the vanilla game, so maybe Bethesda didn't have any stock Bosmer voicefiles to use, but I was hoping they'd have recorded some new ones for her, even if she was just a minor character.

Beleval uses the FemaleSultry voice type, which is not unique to Bosmer; however, a small error in the setup of the vanilla follower Eola, the only one to use the FemaleSultry voice type, leaves many of her lines unrecorded -- Eola was not placed in the CurrentFollowerFaction at rank -1 (so that all dialogue for when she is your follower can be viewed in the CK but she will not be in the faction in-game), so most generic follower dialogue was no recorded for her, though this was difficult to notice as her unique post-quest lines would cover the voiceless ones. Beleval has no unique lines and so when she has no voice files behind her dialogue it's more noticeable.

Faendal is a Bosmer follower.

Sorry, I meant female Bosmer... but then Bosmer aren't unique in that regard. Redguards, Altmer, Khajit and Argonians are similarly lacking in female (in some cases even male) representation, I think.

Thanks for that explanation - It explains why that although the voice actress voiced one follower (Eola) and one marryable character (Senna) modders have been unable to make characters with that voice set fully voiced when making follower/wife mods for characters like Saadia, Alva and Sapphire. It's annoying that Bethesda found the need to work within that limitation as well rather than add the missing dialogue. I was really looking forward to a female Bosmer companion, but right now she really breaks immersion. :(

It's more likely that they simply didn't notice. She has other voiced dialogue (and one other unvoiced dialogue), so it's not like they were neglecting her.

And of course they can't patch it because a., it's not a huge deal, and b., they'd have to get the actress back.

It was a really wasted opportunity, though - that is one of the nicer voicesets in the game, and we can't make proper followers using that voiceset. Good to know that they still have access to the voice actors, though (Beleval has some new unique dialogue) so maybe it's something they can include in the 3rd DLC. Unless one of the Hearthfire followers uses that voice, but looking at the details I don't think that's likely. Where's a good place to report this to increase the chance of Bethesda noticing it? It's something which wouldn't take any effort to fix, yet would be quite a useful change. The UESP wiki?
