Dawnguard PC: Your plans?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:49 pm

Well, since we have to wait, I thought I'd try sharing some ideas/plans I have for Dawnguard when it comes out:

- I plan to create more Sunlight spells for Expert and Master Restoration. The Sunlight Barrage attack from Auriel's Bow looks promising.

- I plan to enable Sunlight enchanted weapons which can be disenchanted for custom use. That way, I will use Wuuthrad with Sunlight/Fire, a Dragonbone Sword with Sunlight/Turn Undead, and Dawnbreaker! Not to mention the other weapons in Dawnguard

- I'm gonna make Ancient Falmer Armor heavy armor. I'll probably switch between Wolf/Steel Plate, Dawnguard Heavy, and Falmer when I want to change up looks. All 3 sets really fit my character well though!

- This might be hard to pull off, but I also plan to create the "Holy" equivalent to a Vampire Lord/Werewolf form. Probably something to do with Talos, since I love that God (Thalmor can svck it!)

What do you PC guys have planned for Dawnguard?

I'm going to skip it. The more I read about it the less I feel interested and it's NOT a matter of being spoiled by the previews.

I don't mind the problems! There's simply too much in there for me to pass up! Holy weapons, armor, spells, enchantments, and the chance to slay the undead? Yes please!

Bugs and glitches I can just fix

I will only be getting Dawnguard so I can support it with my English Strings mod. Until some of the v1.6.89 patch bugs are fixed (the dialogue bug is a biggie for me) I won't be playing it.

The story and content of Dawnguard doesn't really interest me either, but it's the unfixable bugs (again, the dialogue bug) that will stop me.

I was going to get it when it's on offer, but now i think i won't be bothering at all. The more I look at it, the more it looks like it was cobbled together - it looks like a lame B-movie that imposes crap on the main game like stupid glowy eyed vampires and those notorious attacks that will potentially require modding just to make it playable. I think i'll pass on this one. i really wish Bethesda weren't moving full steam ahead into believing their games are simply action games revolving around getting awesome powers and nothing else matters. From what i've seen, the story is a joke and it's the usual total lack of any meaningful choice as you're railroaded towards the same pre-determined outcome - i'm really gutted Bethesda just don't care about storytelling any more and seem to have totally run dry in terms of creativity. I'm sure I won't miss the thrill of skeletons being called "boneman" in a feeble attempt to pretend they're somehow different. Or being sent to vanilla dungeons I've probably cleared already oin that playthrough. And i mean - I can't stand that Vampire Lord nonsense, but you'd think they could have designed dungeons specifically for the DLC they're introduced in so they can actually fit through the corridors! Bethesda are having a laugh at the expense of the punters' wallets.

First thing i'm going to do is get the mod that has already been made that stops the senseless slaughter of all the non essential townsfolk in Skyrim.
I shall then get the mod that allows me to marry attractive, interesting and adoring friends regardless of their fear of ceremony, and the mod that completes a cool new armour set that Beth made but forgot to include the headpiece.

I shall then proceed to play Dawnguard with all my characters for the rest of the year.

Edit: I have just slashed bashed and shouted my way over the1500 hours mark.
I wish it was more, but I like to sleep!

I might not get it. It'll just mean the CK will have even more bugs. And lol we might not even be able to mod the VL form in any specific way. Seems like something they'd hardcode.

It's very unlikely the Vampire lord will be hard coded, my first mod when/if it comes for of will be making some Vampire lord perks work while in humanoid form along with the werewolf also

I am not getting this DLC, I do not pay for bugs to be added to a game that has lots already.

Congrats on hitting the 1500 hour mark!!! Bethesda made the headpiece, it is in the files. They just forgot to put it in the game, so it will be easier than you think.

I intend to make more Aetherium items when possible. I also intend to make the trolls and huskies stronger, and fix the script that lets you become a VL after beating the Dawnguard faction questline.

Agreed I'm moving over from XBOX to PC so I'm going to have fun with all the great mods out there and hope in the mean time Beth. get their heads straightened out and fix up ths DLC. I might get it for the extra content and Serana but it's a maybe.

I'm gonna build a player house-compound in Forgotten Vale some where very high up.

Might even throw in an atherium vein to mine, smelt, forge and .........................

Wonder if atherium was created by the combining of other ores?

Also would be nice if VALErica took over the castle and got that mess in order! lol

I'll be modding the vampire stuff. First thing to go? Dropping all the way to Stage 1 from a single feeding. Yeah. That won't be happening any more. And some other things related to feeding to make it actually have a point. And some other things to make Vampire Seduction have a point.

And there will be sun damage. Go big or go home.

And I'm going to fix Breezehome. I can't believe Bethesda [censored] up Breezehome with this DLC.

Before doing absolutely anything with the DLC, i'll wait for this to be finished; http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/Images/103173

Please don't take this as any kind of advertisemant. I DID NOT make this. However, i felt a need to share it with everyone who plans to roll with the Dawnguard.

Meanwhile, i'll probably be playing through the Vampire story over and over on about 3 different "Evil characters" i've geared up just for the theme of the Volkihar vampires.

People use "Lol" a lot over the internet... Rarely do they actually "laugh out loud" in there chairs.

This is one of them.
