When first searching for the town of Dawnstar, invited for the opening of the museum, I came to the Nightcaller Temple. I killed the two or three frost monsters outside then continued onto town. I went directly to the inn and witnessed the small conversation surrounding the Waking Nightmare quest. After talking to the beautiful npc's scattering after the conversation, I made my way to Erandur to start the quest. When we left I think we activated the conversation in front of the White Hall, which I did not stay around to hear. After arriving at the Temple I continued on with the quest, letting Erandur finish up what he needed to do. On the way out I entered god mode and looted everything. when I left the building I saved and ended the game session for the night.
Today when I started playing I had to turn god mode back on so I could move again, I used Whirlwind Sprint to rush into town. I went directly to the inn to see if anything would happen. As I talked to the people of the inn, it seems that my follower Lydia got stuck at the bar. It was a while till I realized she was not following me as I ran through town selling my goods. I traveled to the blacksmith, the Hall and talked to a few passing people. When I turned around I noticed that Lydia was missing and dismissed it as her being lost, as I was still using Whirlwind Sprint to get around, I tried to find a house I could pop into, but most were locked. I went back to the inn to find that she was at the bar looking precariously at the bard. I walked to her and she seemed to be in the follow command, I toggled between the stay here and split up commands but she still would not move. I took all of her equipment and killed her, then revived her, still stuck. I entered Kill into the console and she begone to stagger slowly from her position to the door(I told her we should split up). when I typed kill again, she stood up and started walking like normal. I saved and shutdown the game to see if anything like this had happened.
I started up Fraps and the game to record what had happened but when I used an auto save to go back to when it had happened I could not recreate the indecent.
-EDIT-
Lydia got stuck in a well today......well, i guess it wasn't really a well but Purewater Run. She got stuck in the large pool of water just after the drop-off, since npc's cant really jump she could not get up or leave with me. After a bit of messing around trying to free her, I got frustrated and ended the gaming session. After a few hours of playing around on the internet I went back to Skyrim, surprised to find Lydia standing right beside me by the cave entrance!??!? What!!? Is there a function that fixes the game when you stop playing? Is there a way I could use this whenever a companion gets stuck instead of just waiting for the game to magically fix it? Anyone?
