Daynight cycle and weather

Will Dishonored have it? I know it's not an open world but since this game seems to be leaning strongly towards dynamic gameplay (thank god) I would imagine the weather or the time of day (or night) will have a significant impact on revisiting missions.

For instance, you want to take the rooftops to follow your target but then it begins to downpour rain, making traversing the slanted surfaces slippery business. Or maybe a thick London-like fog rolls in, assisting your stealth capacity. Stuff like that can add even more replay value and strategy to a game like this, not to mention help us feel like we are inhabiting a living, breathing world.

Do word yet, Mr. Tantum. Weather will probably be a factor in the game, but no word on weather it will be dynamic. Same with day-night cycle. I would assume that the time of day and weather are predetermined per level, for aesthetical and atmoshpheric purposes

Was kinda afraid of that answer but plausible none the less. Perhaps certain missions can only be done under the cover of night for instance. But you have to admit it would be another cool layer of unpredictability to compliment the dynamic nature of this game.... pep pep.

Very great roof chase example for how weather/day cycle can be used for side missions and replay aspects.. I'm all for it.

It would be totally cool, and I'm all for it (in some cases), but as I said earlier not probable

Maybe a little insight from the developers could shed some light...

If it's not in, oh well. I just don't want the whole game to be during one time of day (sorta like how the latest deux game is only at night). It's a subtle break from emersion. I figured besides adding realism, it could actually lend itself toward the random nature of the gameplay. Just like you might turn a corner and see a fist fight, the next time you turn that corner you see a horse and carriage... so too it would be with the time of day and the weather, which some say "so much depends on".

If it doesn't make it into this game then I implore Arkane to consider it for the sequel!

That would be my guess as well.

I read somewhere that it is neither night nor daytime, but sometime in dusk and dawn.

The whole game can't be during one time of day. That is just stupid really. Each mission should have a different feel ergo, different times of day and different weather. It may not be dynamic but they need to inject that variety in there.

Bladerunner had a big impact on the look of that game and that movie only had one day scene at the end of it. From the screenshots, it looks like each mission will take place during different times of day with different weather effects.

Well I'm not saying it WON'T take place at different times of day, just that it wouldn't necessarily be "stupid" for it to not be so.

Also I was referring to the original Deus Ex.
