Deacon's disloyalty get punished

SPOILER ALERT?

I came back to Covenant but they now hate me maybe cause i killed the doc, anyway I quickly dispatched them all then found out if I click on the red workshop thingie I can claim the settlement ( now I know this i will go try it at Drumlin Diner)

anyway I thought cool i will loot everything and hand in the scrap , as usual.

This went fine until some new settlers showed up and took offence and started attacking me.
I defended myself but that upset Deacon and he kept attacking me. I cannot kill him just knock him down. one time I tried to chat to him when he was on the ground but instead that made me stimpack him!

SO i reloaded and this time I looted everything before i clicked the workshop. It doesn't upset Deacon even though they are all still 'red' loots, so it all ended up fine.
But I'm still mad at Deacon for being so fickle in his loyalty so i make him wear a green dress and a funny sword now! (pity I can't find any stilettos for him!

dammit how do I upload a screenshot?

Weird, I shot Deacon and exploded his body everywhere at the cost of failing all Railroad Quest. He's not an essential character, so I don't see why you can't kill him.

Can we post spoilers in this forum without using spoiler tags?

This totally spoiled my fun because I didn't know Deacon could betray us, I was kind of saving Deacon quest line for my second play through.........where are the moderators?

EDIT: Its topic headline is still showing up in general discussion which spoils for new players that Deacon may betray them and that may be there is a way to punish it........

It's always been like that in very game. If you attack non-hostile NPC, the companions will turn on you. It's not Deacon, it's your good companions in general. It's not really a betrayal but a game mechanic. The spoilers part is the covenant.

its not really a spoiler unless saying the weird gameplay (bugged?) mechanic is a spoiler but i will try edit topic anyway

can't edit topic

its not a spoiler just making fun with the screenshot really

and its informative because #how are you supposed to learn to click on the workshop to claim a settlement?

So many things just have to find out by trial in this game
