Deactivating Dawnguard for PC

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:54 am

And i do not want random vampire attacks as soon as i start the game, can i deactivate Dawnguard successfully without it being autoactivated again?

With the Fallout: New vegas DLC i sadly could not do this

Oddly enough, I didn't believe you. Then I logged in on my Steam app on my Nexus, and yup. It's there.

You can turn off Dawnguard like if it was a mod, deactivate Dawnguard.esm in Data files.

*I know since some mods got a little pissed ;)

Does it matter where Dawnguard.esm sits in the load order?

As it's an ESM it'll always be up the top with the master files anyway, so not really.

How big is Dawnguard? I dont like to go online with Steam anymore because Creative Assembly cant stop forcing 500-1gb Shogun2 patches on people who dont even care about multiplayer(ARG!), so I cant check myself.

Does this occur when starting a new game?

Hmm... I'm not sure how I feel about that. I hope it doesn't affect new characters.

Probably shouldn't post this given Steam's current performance lag (for me anyway), but PC version is out on Steam. Don't know about anyone else, but my regular 5.x MBytes/s on my WiFi is currently only 300-400 KBytes coming down through Steam. Connection is other fine, so it's got to be Steam lagged. Coincidence? Hardly. Congrats Bethesda on a very much sought after release.

Yeah, I figured they would just put it out, although I also thought they'd make an announcement that it was out when they did it (which I don't think they did).

I rarely play shogun 2 anymore, so I just pause and ignore it.

I just bought it, but I'll probably wait a week or so to see what the problems are. I'm in the early-middle part of a game, and I'm not up for a restart yet. There are also a fair number of mods that are essential to me, and Dawnguard won't get loaded until I feel like it's safe.

Damn just found out 15 minutes after I had placed an order for some car part for my brother... I guess I will wait for it to hit $9.99 or less.

To deactive a DLC in Fallout NV, simply move the .NAM file to an archive file or another folder.

I intend to see how this Dawnguard plays out too.
I downloaded it just before dinner here.
