If your game is on Steam, then you'd need to install the DLC to the Steam directory. If you left everything at defaults, you'd install the DLC to:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data

I do not know how the difference in the language (game in French, DLC in English) would affect the game. My suspicion is that you'd hear the broadcast in English, the Sierra Madre stuff itself in English, and a few additional lines of dialog for some of the regular NPCs in English and the rest of the game in French. That's just a best guess since I do not have a clue as to how the user's language choice actually affects gameplay.

The worst that will happen if you try is that either the game will freeze and crash or the DLC portions of the game simply will not work. In either case, all you'd need to do is disable the DLC in the Data Files portion of the launcher to get back to where you started. You could go through the effort of clearing out all of the new meshes, textures and whatnot, but the biggest chunk of the DLC are the four Dead Money files in the \Data directory. Get rid of them and the rest should be OK.

Good Luck (or "bonne chance", as the case may be).

EDIT: Wait, i think(!) i get it now. These are the New Vegas installation files you got from D2D, right?

You're missing these files:

Fallout- New Vegas_disk1_1.sid
Fallout- New Vegas_disk1_2.sid
Fallout- New Vegas_disk1_3.sid
Fallout- New Vegas_disk1_4.sid

You will have to download the install files again, and launch setup.exe when complete.

OR just activate your license key on Steam and have it download the game for you.

Hmmmm. Hadn't thought of that option. I'm seeing that Dead Money is available in French on Steam, which would eliminate the language compatibility issue. I'm not sure whether Steam will accept D2D's product activation code (they say they accept retail CD/DVD product codes and this isn't one of those), but it wouldn't hurt to try.

1) Launch the Steam client
2) Click on "Games" on the menu bar
3) Select "Activate a Product on Steam"
4) in the Product Activation pop-up window, click "Next" and accept the TOS
5) enter your product code and follow the instructions

Worst that can happen is that it won't work and you're no worse off than you are now.

There are patches, steam updates it for you. Some things are only fixed if you go back to a save before you ran into a problem.

It's on the list. But New Vegas is a Steamworks game anyways, all versions end up on steam.

Don't worry about it, D2D is probably fine, your download was just interrupted somehow.
