Dead Quest Giver Rustleif... Dawnstar

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 6:27 pm

I just loaded up my game and apparently the Ancient Dragon that attacked Dawnstar killed more than just a guard. It killed Rustleif the Blacksmith & a woman named Abelone. Will Rustleif respawn or will another npc take his place? I ask because I planned on doing his quest, but now I can't even get it since he is dead.

His wife Seren will take over the forge, but the quest is lost, sadly.

What happened to all quest npc's that give quest being essential? & this is why i prefer pc over a console there should be able to access the console command keys on a system. via button pushes or something just not fair i tell you... (storms off in a fit of rage at non essential quest givers).

@ Neko nice avatar I talk to her all the time to get free grandsoul gems & stuff to sell lol. I had gotten a part of orcish boots of muffling but sadly the game locked up before I could save it.

I just never fast travel directly to Dawnstar... Windward ruins is close by, if the game feels like it's time to poop out another dragon spawn, it'll happen there, and there's a couple of pillars to hide behind if the spawned dragon is too tough for me to just slap up with my sword.

Actually, I try to "steer" most dragon spawnage over to the Western Watchtower outside of Whiterun. It's a good place to fight them, since there's plenty of good cover if necessary, and no NPCs that matter.

I was walking back through Kynesgrove after killing the dragon with Delphine, and what do you know, another dragon shows up. I'm afraid it may have killed Roggi, or whatever his name is, the guy with the missing shield. Didnt look too closely, will have to pass by there again.

As for Rustleif, I got a Companion's quest to kill an Ice Wolf inside his house. Now I can understand him staying outside, but he's treading water near the ship, along with is wife. Killed the wolf, and they're still there. Went of to do the Waking Nightmare quest, still in the water. Maybe when I report back to Aela. Hopefully they wont drift into deep water and drown.
