Dear Amazon.....

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 6:46 pm

Dear Sir/Madam

I payed 'Expedited' delivery for this item because I needed the product on the day of release. It didn't arrive today and I am exceptionally annoyed.

I shall be returning this item for a full refund, and I also expect to be have my post and packaging refunded.

I look forward to receiving an apology from you, and an explanation as to why you would promise a delivery date of 11/11/11, charge me extra to have it delivered on that day and then fail to deliver on this promise.

I would also urge you not to mention Royal Mail in your reply to me. I did not undertake any transaction with them, nor did they make me any false promises regarding the item in questions delivery date.

This shall be the last Item I purchase on your website.

Regards

Wrong place to post this but I feel your pain. I am, however, more patient so I can stand to wait.

I got my Amazon pre-order today. Maybe it has something to do with Amazon UK?

I'm 100% with you, brother. My copy didn't arrive today, too because the carrier that should deliver all the copies for my local retailer got late. They don't play too much videogames to actually put more care in their work huh?

Sorry to hear that Amazon let you down. I pre-ordered my copy from AmazonUK on the 4th November, which I thought was late. I received an email the 9th I believe, saying my copy had been shipped and expected delivery would be 11th.
It came the 10th.....

Also only about the 7th I changed the shipping to first class instead of free, just in case I actually got it before release, pretty lucky I guess.

Sent on the 10th via one-day delivery (I'm a Prime member), and should have arrived today, but no Skyrim and a very unhappy customer. Second time they have messed up a release day shipment.

This is exactly why you buy in stores and avoid online purchases.

Not that you're not justified in your complaints. You are. But I hardly ever buy anything online, especially if it's something I want by a certain time frame.

In store purchasing for the win.

Seems to be the case, although a few years ago it was the other way around. I guess online retailers stopped caring about service, believing themselves safe, and now the shoe is on the other foot so to speak.

Last time I pre-order on Amazon, they've let me down twice now in a matter of weeks, and it's getting old fast. Next time I'm going into a store, fronting my cash, and leaving with the game on the day.

I paid for 1st class "guaranteed today." I am in St Andrews, an hour north of Edinburgh on the A25. They failed. My friends in town also did not receive their copies.

It is your own fault. You chose the wrong delivery method. For arrival on the 11th, you had to pick "release date delivery" not "expedited". I know you picked the wrong method because release date delivery is the cheapest delivery type, only 99 cents.

I ordered from AMAZON.CO.UK. Here in the UK we do not use 'cents'. There was no 'release date delivery' available in the uk, 'Expedited;' being the UK equivalent.

Idiot.

The postman will be met with "Stop right there criminal scum!" when next I see him. The bugger can either pay his fine, or go to jail. Failing that, it's axe time.

I got the "release day shipping" (US), and mine arrived here at 11:45 AM. I believe it was shipped out around 11:30 PM on the 10th.

If you wanted to have it so badly on release, why didn't you just buy it off of Steam? You could've preloadet it and have it ready when it got unlocked.
(assuming you went for PC copy. Not sure if the console versions are up for purchase on Xbox Games on Demand / PSN-equivelant yet though.)

Well, becouse, basically, Steam is [censored]. Or, atleast it has been I didn't want to risk it with Skyrim.

Take Witcher II for example... I Pre-ordered it, as did many, many people but me like many people couldn't play or even DL till two days after release. Furthermore, untill recently to patch the game you had to DL the entire game again...

Seems as though none of this is the case with Skyrim, but I did not want to risk it.
