Dear Esther

Hello folks, I was browsing the Steam store just now when I came across an indie game that was released quite some time ago; Dear Esther. I didn't pay it much heed then but it seems quite interesting. Does anyone here have the game, and if so, is it worth the buy?

I don't think you could classify it as a game as such. It really is a work of art. Is it worth the buy? It was for me and I bought it at full price.

You have to go in knowing what to expect. It's more of an interactive story than anything. There's no fighting, no guns, or anything else like that. If that sounds like your cup of tea then you should buy it.

I'd held up on purchasing it since its release, but saw that it was on sale and figured it was a steal at the price.

My recommendation: If you have Half-Life 2, try the http://www.moddb.com/mods/dear-esther/ first. If you like it, it might be worth getting the standalone version.

For $2.50, how far wrong can you go with buying it?

Yeah I know it's an interactive story, that's why it looks interesting. I'll buy it, maybe later on.
