PC will have dedicated servers, consoles won't. Crytek knows how to do PC, don't worry.

They have officially stated that the limitations are not due to the consoles. The limits on player count is a gameplay decision. I still don't really like the decision though, it diminishes the player community by making people angry, so they don't buy the game. Also, I'm not sure

Sorry, the submit button has a mind of its own.

Also, I'm not sure the decision will improve gameplay much either.

So you say the limitations are not because of consoles but a gameplay decision... which is made because of.....????

Yes the limited capacities of a modern PC! (rofl)

C`mon... of course they went that way because they knew consoles couldnt do better. A Pc exclusive MP would have been to expensive and would piss off the console gamers by showing them the limitations of their system. Its all keeping the colsole gamers calm by saying: that was intendet to be like this... but the truth is.. consoles couldnt do better.. and we wont spent more money only for PC gamers.

You reflected my sentiments cell, i was told were not dumbing down because of the console restrictions , that still leaves me with some rather small-lish maps, and possibly... a sincere lack of vehicles to play around with in MP, my stance is that if we could have larger maps/vehicles/dedkit-servers for PC this would be a positive boon for all concerned, well for PC users anyways :) - I've been playing the wars and wondered if you might be making maps again cell for the new sandbox/C2 etc?

A gameplay decision is generally made based on this funny little thing called... wait for it... gameplay. As in "how the game feels when it plays"
As in "the way we want the game to feel". As in "not for any technical reason".

People already gave examples of larger numbers on console.

Crying over spilled milk is even stupider when it hasn't left the cow yet.

Is anyone else looking forward to watching these guys eat their words when Crysis 2 doesn't svck.

I trust Crytek UK to make it awesome. But... They are making decisions that they think are good ones, and they might be right. But even if the decisions they have made about MP do turn out to make a great game, not many will be playing because they don't want to buy the game unless they are sure that the MP will be good even with 12 players.

I just hope that the people who DO play won't all play community maps, so there's a good amount of people playing on the default maps. I am not against modding, I just prefer to play the game in a way that I know what to expect.

With you there on the maps, Frogging.

And frankly, I don't expect the dozen or so dire threats a day on this forum to hurt overall number of PC players. I just hope there isn't a day 0 crack of the game keeping people on no-key servers.

Vehicles ruined Crysis. I am glad they're gone.

I personally like the idea of having all the default maps being a specific size.

With the possibility of DLC, maybe we'll get map packs offering different sizes and styles of maps, with new game modes for those maps.

That way, you would always be getting into an appropriate number of players for any given map.

12 Player only maps = Dead Game. I won't be buying it. I'm already turned off by their graphics anyway. It just looks like your typical console shooter. Total sellout. I can't see any reason right now to go to Crysis 2. I'll just be sticking with Wars. Maybe some modders will make a game worth playing in the end.

Yeah, Cell_666 has some pretty good maps.

You made Bagram and the Jump_n_punch/Jump maps right Cell?

After reading the features unveiled the multiplayer mode I are doubts about him. 6vs6? No dedicated servers.
No vehicles. Unable to use the full features of the suit (speed) System unlock weapons ranges and modes of suit ...

My question is: Which will differ Crysis 2 Call of Duty Mw2?

Crytek is going to cheat like other companies making us pay more money for maps or unlock features already included in the dvd?
We aimed at a future where all the FPS will be the same. Sheep! And then complain about piracy!
Buy Crysis a nothing more going on sale. Like I did with Warhead. But if this goes well I will not buy Crysis 2.

Crysis 2 will differ from Modern Warfare 2 because of the Nanosuit 2, New York City, aliens, and different weapons.

The stuff Crytek took from Modern Warfare 2 was also expanded upon and refined, they didn't just steal it...
