So will Death be permanent for your character (i.e. you gotta go make a new one)?
(Let's face it, any character you create who dies is forever tainted with shame anyways).
Also will you be able to loot the corpses of your victims?

Why not?
Everyone's pretty keen on lore around here and that's the Telvanni way.
So after spending a couple thousand hours perfecting a character, I can no longer play him after my internet decides to take a [censored] fo 30 seconds?
I can see what you mean about it would be annoying if you lost your character to a glitch.
But where's the sense of danger and adventure when there's nothing to play for.
You're just kind of going through the motions.
If nothing can be lost, what can be truly gained?
I'm not saying force it on people but there's definately a place for it.
Az
I prefer to draw a line between immersion and gameplay.
While it's odd that you respawn after death, losing all your items and having to restart is much and much worse.
This does enforce banditry to a certain degree, I think the players should get a lesser copy of the loot instead of the enemy getting your loot, of course this is open to much exploits that its just not worth it.
in this game it will be difficult to reach max level and VERY difficult to get endgame gear. So perma-death and full-loot will not work .
Perma-death and full-loot only works in games were its easy to progress a character, so dying and losing equipment is not earth-shattering.
Im guessing you have never played a PVP MMO before. When you introduce things like you are suggesting then people avoid people at all costs, you would only see a big group of people (safety in numbers running around) you could not solo because a group would just run you over. your idea would pretty much take away all fun in PVP
So just delete your character upon death and roll a new one. You agree there's no need to force it on other people, so this thread is done right?
Yep.
My suspicion though is that those who ask for this and various other hardcoe niche options are less about wanting it for themselves and more about inflicting it on others. So no they won't willingly delete their own characters they just want others to lose theirs. Not saying the OP is one of those people but its just a general attitude of those that want these features want them mainly so they can ruin others play and not so much that they just want it for their own sakes.
