so ive bought the cheapest house in skyrim and fully decorated it from what i can get from the steward but, i have alot of potions and poisins i wont use but look cool that i wanna stick on shelves and display along with some dragon bones and some soul gems for safe keeping, the only thing is that the bookcase i can activate and fill with books which ive done but the weapon rack in there i cant do that with nor can i hang any weapon on it when i try and drop stuff on shelves it ends up on the floor, is there any way i can grab and manipulate objects without putting them in my inventory, (i wanna say that you could do this in oblivion), but not positive, so that i can set my shelves and house up all nice looking? and advice would be appreciated even if its simply that i stuck with how things are least then ill stop trying to figure out what im doing wrong

On PC - hover reticule over item, hold E.

On 360 - hover reticule over item, hold A.

On PS3 - hover reticule over item, hold (action button).

There you go. Basically, if you pick things up, open doors, with that button, hold it down.
