i havent bought a house yet so i have a few questions regarding house owning:

1) are there more places besides whiterun where i can buy houses in? if yes than - are they cheaper or more expensive? how do u get the option to buy them?

2) in the house, besides dumping stuff from the inventory, is there a way to change it's appearance? move furniture or anything within it?

3) what are houses good for? just keeping items and wife?

4) i read that lydia will always go back to the house if dismissed, but any other companion will go to the house if part ways?

5) overall - are you happy with the decision of buying a house? was it worth the money? useful? just your over all impression of this game feature.

how and where do i buy fixed furniture? inside the house itself? or should i go to store and purchase them and they appear inside the house?

Check the stores in the same town you bought the house.

I just got one house in Whiterun, and for that you talk to the steward you bought the house from.
