Deer Pelt can't be turned into leather? : V

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but then why can't we turn deer pelt into leather? I can turn every other pelt/hides into leather except deer pelt. They're pretty much useless and I don't know if it's a bug or that it was meant to be like that. Just had to get it out.

well thats odd because i can turn deer pelt into leather. Although I think i remember one time when i first got the game that I had one deer pelt that couldn't but i dropped it and went on with me day. But now I can do it no problem. unless i am just thinking i can (i haven't played for over a month now). So my memory is a bit fuzzy

There are Deer Pelts and Hides.. Can't turn pelt into leather though but hide works.

I have a similar situation but with other animals. I have a feeling its because we can turn one thing into hides but not others. I wish they'd give us something to do with the others though!

Bonus points to Bethesda for giving us resources instead of coins!

I got this weird glitch where I cane give my pelts to hunters, but I receive no money for them. Works with every other merchant but them.

Well I dont know, but if I had killed an Deer, Elk or other I can turn them into leather. I find that some of the Deer/Elk/Goat hides I find in the World just sitting on a table or on the ground thoses are the ones that you cant turn into leather. Now mind you its only a few of them, not all of them. So now, I dont take any pelts I find laying around. I only uses the ones I kill myself and dont have that problem since.

Tanning:

Deer hide = yes
Deer pelt = no

Well I just dumped all my pelt's I found in a corner in Whiterun and hope that they all disappear from my view forever. They are pretty much useless and to think that I was carrying them around for awhile thinking I could just tan them later for smithing purpose.
