Does anyone know what to do after Mariks uses etheral shout and just stands there I have tried everything but nothing works, or I am missing something. Help is greatly welcome

After he uses Ethereal it should wear off after a few seconds.

I think its an issue with "killing" him too quick. Another person had the same issue earlier, they reloaded and swung less/slower. Seemed to fix it for them

This is correct.

Miraak will enter the ethereal form to heal and absorb a dragon soul. For whatever reason, damaging him too quickly will put him into a perma-ethereal state, and you must reload a save to fix it.

You're doing too much damage at once. Up the difficulty, or do less damage.

let him take the three dragon souls, you need to make the fight last for about 7 minutes of dialog,
