or does the melee damage with heavy armour gauntlets work even if you has a shield equiped ?

also this Nord is just a test character really Im hoping that what ever i choose to do with this Nord I can apply to my currently level 51 mage cuz i just got 100 in all magick schools (unless alchemy is part of magick thats currently 53...)

Yes, I suppose... and alchemy is part of the Thief skill group and takes bonuses from the thief stone. Last week I deleted a 50 character that was my first to complete the main quest. Dunmer assassin dual wielding but eventually I switched him to 1hand - block/magic that fits my playstyle for high levels(illusion/restoration/alteration)playing on PC btw... Right now I'm having some trouble sticking with one character for long, Ive downloaded a mod that overhauls the skill trees, it is awesome but I'm addicted to extreme difficulty(and I hate dying so lots of new characters...) so I'm switching playstyles and races quite often this week.

was done with the character and couldn't get back into it + with arrow kill cams I kept losing arrows due to them bouncing off enemies and not being able to see where they rolled off to

and I want to get my mage to level 81


also I may have deleted my archer but I want to think that every enemy i come across that is found dead that I didn't kill was assassinated by this character (he was a master Assassin after all + i constantly picked my arrows up )

To each their own, but's its not something I would have done.
I'd keep about 5 save files of that character just for future DLC or whatever or perhaps for use of gameplay breaking glitches.

I rather have it known it's there than not having it.

If you manage to get your mage to level 81, he'll no longer be a mage but a JoaT.

So, plan on using the Oghma Infinium, eh? Because to get to level 81 is almost impossible without exploiting the book. There are few I've read who made this level.
