Ok, i currently have Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn installed. Unlike most people I have actually not had problems, like freezing, since I installed Dragonborn. The other day i decided to build a Hearthfire home, Windstad Manor, and began having freeze and lag issues. Not only while I was at my new house but elsewhere as well. It is as if the very existence of Windstad Manor has bugged out my game. Also, the way I play my current character as a bit of a loner and nomad makes the new player home seem to not really fit with the RP. So I have decided that I am just going to uninstall it for now.

My question, is Hearthfire 100% seperate from the other 2 DLC's?
Are there going to be any undesirable side effects with DG and DB, Other than what i obviously can no longer do like build my own home, adopt children and i think Hearthfire came with a few new cooking recipes as well, when i uninstall Hearthfire?

P.S. I have an old save from before I ever bought or began building Windstad Manor that i will start from after i delete it so no problems there. Also, I am on Xbox if that matters.

Pulling out a module, be it a DLC or a mod, is a bad idea. Some simpler ones may be pulled without incident, but complex ones, like ones that alter worldspaces with persistent references or especially ones with scripts, will cause problems. Some mods handle this by a complex deactivation routine before removing the module, but alas the XBox doesn't even have a command line console to do all this rigamaroll manually. The most catastrophic potential problem is what I call a Bloatbomb: your gamesave will increase very drastically in size until it becomes too much for the game engine to handle.

Your safest bet for removing Hearthfire is to start a whole new game without Hearthfire on your system.
