Describe your ultimate bliss

Post » Wed Aug 14, 2013 11:27 pm

First an foremost this is not about religion or God or a debate about what happens when we die.

Ok so please leave any religious views at the door before you walk in.

Now what this discussion is about is the saying that I'm sure we all say every now again when the weather is great or you just had a relaxing an soothing massage an you say this feels like heaven or now this is what I call heaven.

The Rule no arguing an since this is all about each individuals opinion the occasion to argue shouldn't arise.

Now to me Heaven would be a place of Dragons, Lycans, Vampires, Smilodons, Pegasus, Dinosaurs and a killer cup of coffee in the morning among other things.

An before people ask this is not what your skyrim's idea of heaven is like .

You can't bring a religious idea to the table and not expect a religious discussion...

Quite. If you wanted a discussion as to what bliss was, then call it that.

That's not true.

Heaven to me is a place of religious discussion... or just a good video game every once in a while.

Really so by what you say I can't mention that great pizza I had without saying where I bought it from.

I'm sure you could, but people would ask.

Getting in bed on a cold winter night after an exhausting day, whilst just slightly tipsy. Utter bliss. I just wish those few minutes would last longer before I fall asleep. :P

to me, finding a "legit super-awesome single-player modern PC game" that doesn't require the internet (regardless of the medium of installation) to get to a functional state. is heaven

You can bring up this topic, but it'll get locked because people can't keep religious views to themselves, and others go off topic pointing at how this is religious.

Heaven to me, as cheesy as it is, is cuddling up to my girlfriend with a glass of Irn-Bru nearby and playing a good game, while a chicken pie cooks in the oven.

Getting a good night sleep and waking up with energy bursting out of me feels like heaven to me. (I've had problems with my sleep for years)

Perhaps 'paradise' would be a better word? That would make it clear what the thread is about, whereas with 'heaven' you think the question is 'what are your views on heaven'.

Anyway, I'd rather not say.

A sunny day with moderately strong winds. I'm not very picky, but having a nice view of a vast field would be nice as well.

My heaven would be to meet an alien from another planet and discuss the mysteries of our universe.

Many things invoke this feeling, but...that feeling when you just literally feel the stress oozing from your shoulder, neck and back muscles. Just fantastic.

Being in nature amongst the rustling of the leaves in trees. Be it spring or winter, nothing sets my heart at peace like being at one with nature in silence and appreciating it all.

Try sitting under a waterfall. It is kind of clichè but it is still amazing imo.

To me heaven would be to be able to time travel with a film crew and amass HD color footage of historical events, like Captain Cook landing at Botany Bay, footage of every famous speech, a Beatles concert in Hamburg etc.

Hmm... Silence.

The absolute best feeling for this "bliss" (I'm not distinguishing from peace) would be sitting outside when the clouds are thick and low, and you can feel wind and rain approaching. Basically the call before the storm. Love that, because it makes me calm, too. Like stepping into a twilight zone (if that's the proper term, excuse me if it is not).

I'm actually quite relaxed whenever I hear thunder. And lightning looks pretty. :)

Me and my doctor(she's into meditation despite being more of a doctor for psychical things) actually talked about what my happy place would be. I said it'd be my room with some Immortal playing and plenty of video games. Now, it includes animals. I'd rather they were not species meant for the wild except hermit crabs, though. I'm fine with hermit crabs because they aren't endangered and actually are very friendly to humans as long as you respect them, are calm, and know when they want to be left alone. Besides, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RU58E7R1WA Oh, and I'd have plenty of other metal now. Gorguts and Antestor, Dio, some Skeletonwitch, Lonewolf, Candlemass, and A Pale Horse Named Death would be playing. Oh, and some Nocturnal Depression and Nargaroth. And I guess the RPGs would be a ton of Japanese ones and large Western ones. Oh, and some Shenmue style open world games like Yakuza. I love every minute of those games for some reason. And plenty of goofy niche games from Asia, too. I guess I seem Japan obsessed there, but I just happen to really like Japanese things.

Never even care that they are Japanese things. I like them for the way they are more. They are often goofy and I kind of consider JRPGs to be comfort food if it is the right kind. Ni No Kuni is a comfort food JRPG to me. It's like a eating homemade pizza. Shin Megami Tensei is more like eating a frozen waffle frozen. The frozen waffle frozen is amazing, but no one believes you until they try it. I even have my nephew hooked on eating waffles frozen now. Oh, and my blissful land would have plenty of raspberries, apples precut, tons of seafood, beef jerky trees, and tons of Chinese food. Oh, and there'd be coffee and apple juice that actually tastes of apples. And vitamin D milk that doesn't get lumps. There'd be a few puzzle games and large puzzles, too. Puzzle games include Puyo Puyo and Popcap games.

It'd also have the kind of rain you hear at the beginning of a nice, heavy rain. Except, there'd be no storms. Just heavy rain that can be heard. Or it could be snow. Whichever comes first.

My happy place... sounds like a weird neo-hippie version of Valhalla combined with tons of geek stuff. I guess the fountain contains raspberry smoothie that has vanilla greek yogurt in it as an ingredient and some milk. No hotpockets in my Valhalla. Sorry. I will let visitors come by, though. It's open source.

A nice day where I don't have to do anything at all.

Sleep late, breakfast in bed, reading a book in the sun with a pot of tea and a nice salad and something combining meat, sauce and bread for dinner.

Like a kebab. An evening of videogames and sleeping in again the next day.

It's the simple pleasures that matter when you get old, dreaming of wild things is for the young.

Heavy rain and dark skies on relaxing afternoon of doing nothing. And realizing that I'm listening to something great.
