I Desperately need a new game

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:59 am

I really need a new game. Something fresh, something new and exciting, something that doesn't hold your hand every second you play, something with a really good and deep storyline, i also need a challenge. Something thats original and doesn't have a bad storyline or bland setting like most games these days. A game with substance and not just flash and graphics like most games coming out now. It can be for consoles or PC, Rpg or shooter i don't care i just really need something new, i haven't played a game that has blown me away in a while and i was hoping i could get some suggestions.

Games i Enjoy
Morrowind
oblivion
KOTOR 1 and 2
Halo 1 and 2
GTA
Gears of war 1
counter strike
Fallout 3 and vegas

No game is going to be all of those things at once.

Try http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1339938-i-desperately-need-a-new-game/s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CDcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsupergiantgames.com%2F%3Fpage_id%3D242&ei=uNglT4_FJZG4hAe7g-CRBA&usg=AFQjCNH9YJDwk35SfpkEhuFtoRw8n31trA&sig2=lnE3E2jVUqXMC-NSGELy3A, though.

The biggest change in "feel" I've had in years was when I played Okami. Persona 3 FES as Terash Cas recommended is also good if you need a deep storyline but really Okami while it is not a very serious game kicks the bucket if you want something fresh and new, something you've never had before.

It's on the Playstation 2 though so it may be hard to get and play.

I wouldn't call them "new" or "fresh", but judging by your list I would recommend the Baldur's Gate series and the first two Fallout games, all of which can be cheaply acquired from Good Old Games. The original Deus Ex, too (I haven't played/can't comment on HR).

Mass Effect and Dragon age. I reccomend you stay away from the old fallouts because nothing on your list gives me the impression that its the sort of game you'd like.

Baldur's gate 2 is apparently the best rpg ever according to everyone. But again its a lot like the old fallouts. Worth a try all of them.

If you're looking for a challenge, I'd recommend the first. The general interface isn't quite as user-friendly as in the sequel, so despite playing very similarly it has a very different feel from 2. 2 directly follows the story from where 1 left off, but it does recap at the beginning. The first game is a relatively low-level adventure, so while there's plenty of room for advancement, there's also plenty of room for stumbling into horrible death.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/91700/ has its... quirks, but if you can get past the Frenglish and occasional bug, there's a decent game in there. Complex, no hand-holding, fairly original in a bunch of ways, some flexibility in playstyles (stealth, tank, hacker, etc.), it's a unique role playing first person shooter -- not that there's many of those to start with :(.

Have you played halo 3? You have played the first two, so why not third if you have a 360. Also put it on legendary though it is still easier than 1 and 2.

You could try Gothic 3. Its graphics are a bit buggy and its pretty difficult in the beginning but I always found it to be immensely enjoyable and very immersive (is that a word?).
