I just have a simple question about destruction. Would playing a full destruction mage get over powered at higher levels?

Depends a lot on the mage. You put all your level-up points to Magicka, so that your Health gets none, you can get one-shotted by high-leveled arrows. Those are about the only thing that can kill my mage at his level 40s. I feel like overpowered despite using only I think Adept level destruction magic. It's because of the Impact perk though that staggers everything I fling my firebolts at, I think. Don't choose that, and I don't think there's any fear of being overpowered. I'd say vice versa.

No. it get worse , you have to exploit the impact perk , also you have to enchant your close to have a cost reduction of 75 or more, and for ancient dragons is very recomendable to have a least 1 potion of fortify destruction .

Magic has no proper place on Skyrim.

Destro is decent but Affliction and Demo are better for raiding.
