I'd prefer these two spells be single one, using different colors. Perhaps an high level version combines them.

Well detect life now doesn't detect undead enemies or dwenmer machines, so I suppose detect dead detects anything not technically alive?

either you'll see the undead shuffling around AND/OR you'll see corpses on the ground outlined....i hope both since in oblivion i'd lose corpses in tall grass lol.

I swear cyrollic grass is carnivorous. A corpse will fall into it and bam - it's gone, it's like the grass swallowed it up xD

I always thought it odd in OB when detect life would point out skeletons and zombies. I hope it is a Detect Undead, so to speak.

Going by the opening posts quote I would say yes.

Seems so. We already know detect life doesn't show the undead.

This could be interesting for ambushes too. Like when draugr and dragon priests emerge or burst out of tombs, perhaps detect dead can see where they are resting so you don't get caught unprepared?

Yep, I'm pretty sure it did. I guess it was more like Detect Lifeforce or Living, so it work for the Living Dead as well.

I'm cool with having a Detect Undead and Detect Life though.
