Dexion Avicus GLITCHING consistently, need a fix

SPOILERS

I'm doing the quest "Prophet" on the vampire side. I've done it multiple times, with and without Serena, and have loaded saves from before I even acquired the quest to try again, but the problem persists. After I "Defeat the enthralled Moth Priest" and "Use your Vampire's Seduction power on the Moth Priest", he just stands there. I feed on him, and nothing happens. The journal says to "Feed on the Moth Priest to make him your thrall", yet feeding him does nothing. I've entered and exited, knocked him out and seduced him again, waited for hours, but nothing changes.

This is not the first glitch I've encountered. This is the first glitch I've encountered that I wasn't able to work around. In fact, when I first installed this DLC it didn't work, (would freeze up before loading) and after the 5th redownload I find that all my saves have been corrupted. Whatever, change is good, I'll start a new character. Finally it works, I get up to level 10 and find glitch after glitch after glitch, and now I find myself with a glitch that completely stalls the progress of the DLC I paid for. WTF Bethesda?

Can anyone help me with this blasted Moth Priest? I'm at my wit's end.

I'd like to add to this instead of starting a new thread. If you beat the moth priest in VL form, it says seduction power added. But, when you revert back to normal form it's not there. By the way, VL can not use seduction powers so it is a nomal form power.

There are problems with the moth priest on both the vampire and Dawnguard sides of the quest. On the Dawnguard side the moth priest becomes hostile to everything that moves. There is no way to calm him down long enough for him to read the Elder Scroll.

I stayed out of VL form during the entire fight to make sure that wasn't causing it either. It made no difference. This is not happening because of some weird way I happen to play the game, this is a bug, trust me. I'm just looking for some kind of way to gloss over it so I may continue with the DLC.
What I stated is a different bug.
