I havent played diablo 3, but i had a big feeling that the game was gonna be a Wow clone and ruin diablo, and judging by what the creator of diablo said, i guess i was right.
Whatever, blizzard has been a [censored] game devoloper for years. I loved em back when they came out with warcraft 1 and 2 and starcraft. But pretty much the second they made world of warcraft - and ruined the warcraft franchise - they've been a [censored] developer that's been getting rich off of the casual gamer who cant tell the difference.

Diablo 3 was a lot of fun...

...Until you got to max level and discovered the loot system was more like an MMO and less like an ARPG. I think this is its biggest flaw, and it looks like Mr. Brevik agrees. I don't feel the same mystery that I felt with Diablo 2, or even the original Diablo despite being awful at it. There was no incentive to kill one more mob or find one more dungeon (as if there were any dungeons to find, another flaw, in my opinion) to possibly get another awesome piece of gear. It was generally faster and more productive to grind gold and hit the auction house so you could grind more gold. Add in a lack of PvP and the aforementioned exploration and it becomes difficult for old-school ARPG fans to enjoy.

incgamers appears to be so deluged with people trying to read that article that it brought the server to a screaming halt. eg, that link and any incgmers url doesn't seem to work.

As to Jay Wilson's alleged response....y'know, I don't really care about the remark itself (and Jay isn't the only Blizz associate to make some comments). Who hasn't had a buck-me-up chat pow-wow with friends or co-workers under similar circumstances, at some point, that might be kinda like that? You think Apple employees don't sit around the boardroom going "$#@# Microsoft!" while grinning at each other, or vice versa?

What bothers me is that these gaming/tech people would do it on Facebook, of all places. A public internet place. I mean, c'mon, we're not talking about tech-ignorant grandma's here. They should know better re: lack of privacy on such places of the internet, right? That's the part that feels unprofessional and stupid. I'd agree with one bnet poster - if that really was Jay posting that comment, he must have been drunk.

It bothers me he insults and has a lack of respect for the guy behind the Diablo series.Lets be honest,it's the only reason Diablo 3 sold well,if it had any other name it would have tanked.Here is another good link

In my opinion, it's completely blown out of proportion. You don't know that he meant any super-serious disrespect to Brevik. Haga makes a post that says he's sad and hurt because Brevik doesn't seem to like the design of the game compared to D1/D2. Maybe Wilson was just saying "Pay it no mind/screw him" to show support but used a cuss form of doing so. This forum is filled with people doing that sort of thing.

If anything, it's the others, more than Jay, who were much more insulting - disparaging Brevik's other game efforts (Hellgate, etc) in a derogatory manner. But they didn't use the F word, so Wilson gets all the fan-rage.
You know I'm not fond of D3, and I'm not fond of Blizzard-Activision. But I don't know of anyone who has never said such things in a fit of temp-pique or to try to make someone else feel better or whatever...that's just humanity. Meh...it's the internet. I'm not surprised at the reaction. And I do think it's unprofessional to do it publicly like that, as I already said. If one wants to have a moaning session, should stick to private phone texts or emails or phone calls...instead, they do it on Facebook, like a bunch of idiots, and now have a PR nightmare.

It's kind of baffling how oblivious even tech-savy game developers are to how public Facebook can be. It's understandable if they spew out comments like that during the coffee break, but when it's on the internet for all to see they're essentially representing their company.
