Did anyone get the Stray Dog?

I've been looking for the Stray Dog. So far no luck. Where does he appear?

(Maybe I might have unknowingly killed him along with the wolves.}

I had her show up on a couple of toons - once, near Sunderstone Gorge, and I don't remember where the other time. I sent her off home - I have no use for the sort of gimped followers Beth foists off on players.

[I should note that I find the entire concept of "followers/companions" stupid and useless - it's not just Beth's version I dislike, it's that any game company pushes this sort of crap. Just make a game a person can enjoy without that.... If people "need" others in their games, they can do MMOs, y'know?]

I found that mutt near Alftand when I was doing the main quest. Of course, it consider a random encounter in the wilderness, so that mutt might not be there when ya go there.

I wonder if it's a one time event.

I may have killed the dog thinking it was three wolves coming after me.

Next time I'm in the game, I'll have to do a 'player.moveto' and see if I get a dog or a corpse.

I found it north of Riften. Had no idea how to get it to follow me though.

Do you know about Meeko?

(Are you referring to Lod's Quest or is there an actual stray dog running around Skyrim?)

Yeah, not the Daedric dog... there is a Stray Dog that can fight with you.

I met him out in the middle of nowhere, near Winterhold. It seemed very random, because there was no landmark or enemy spawn point nearby.

Wait what stray dog? The only stray dog I met ended up being a daedric's pet.

There is a Stray Dog that will briefly join you as a companion for awhile.
Seems to be random as when he'll appear.

I think he is just random. I met him once running from Helgen to Riverwood (point to point, not following the trail).

I thought about taking him along till I realized the barking never stops...and the charging in...don't get me started.

In my 180+ hours of playing, I came across him once. Wandered into an area to see a dog fighting three wolves. Naturally he tore his canine brethren up. Had him follow me for a while....forget if I ever let him free or if he got killed or just disappeared. But, he's out there, just very rare.

The stray dog is just too random of an encounter. I got myself Meeko who's in a settled location, and combined with the essential dogs mod he's such a badass.
Didn't come across Vigilance or the other one yet.

Trust me they are not worth it, more annoying than their worth. Their park is worse than a dragon roar...

I found him on the hill just south of Helgen.
Lost him in Riften though.
I'm sure one of the Beggars in the Rtway must have eaten him...

Yes, I got it too. Saw him in the distance, battling some wolves. One black ebony arrow through its head and the puppy was no more :)

I don't know about a stray dog wandering Skyrim, but I did find Meeko and have him join me. On my main (pictured), I sent him home so I could fight the civil war, but long after the completion of the civil war questline, I went to get him again, and he's no where to be found. Dang bandits must have got him.

I think I found him up on a mountain, and didnt know he was a follower. I told him to go home and he left. Never saw him again.

Ha! I just came across 'Stray Dog'!

There he was just laying down in the middle of the stone bridge over the river just west of the Sarethi Farm.

There were no wolves attacking him or anything like that. I had heard that you saved him from attacking wolves in a random world encounter. When I pressed 'E' the choices were 'Wait here' and 'Go Home'. Apparantly he automatically instantly became my companion because moments later a bear attacked and Lydia and Stray Dog fought the bear. After the fight, Stray Dog came back and layed down in front of me at my feet. I don't know what the 'Go Home' command will do. I'll try it later.

When I eventually give him the 'Go Home' command, where will he go? The bridge I found him? One of the houses I own?

I only found him once, on the road just south of Helgen. Unfortunately he randomly disappeared after clearing out the Embershard mine with me. He was there when we killed the last bandit, and I noticed he was gone by the time I returned to Riverwood, about 20 feet away... I never knew what happened to him and never saw him again.

I had one show up near the Thalmor embassy. I put it in my house, then found another one near Windhelm. Once the second dog joined me the first one stayed in my house, forever.
