To those that don't know: There was a glitch with Dawnguard that when you bought the upgrades for Breezehome in Whiterun, you could pay for the Alchemy lab, but it wouldn't show up in your house. You could buy it infinitely but it would never show.

I was wondering if Hearthfire fixed this so I can see if it's worth making dragons spawn so I have a place to live. Oh and it's one of my favorite houses so I want it for that reason, too.

That bug I don't know about, but I had the known bug of not being able to access the weapon or shield racks in Breezehome, and when I installed DG I was finally able to use them. I like that! Or maybe Hearthfire helped, not sure since I downloaded them both the same day.

On the other hand, the bug jars I had disappeared, but I'll take use of racks over those.

I'm not 100% sure but I think Dawnguard fixed that glitch, either that or Hearthfire.

Dawnguard caused the problem with the alchemy room not being furnished, Hearthfire fixed it. I had the problem with the two weapon racks by the door and the weapon plaque above the door not working, but that was fixed ages ago with one of the patches.

Now the same bug happens with the enchantment labaratory in Honeyside in Riften in my game.

I had all the houses before DG and Hearthfire, and had them fully furnished along with alchemy and enchanting. The only glitch I had was the racks in Breezehome. I do know that UESP says if you buy the kid's room in Breezehome, you lose the alchemy lab. Did you have it and then upgrade? If so, that may be the problem. I love Breezehome, but won't give up the alchemy lab there so I don't know if the option to buy it still shows up after converting. I don't need kids there so it's no issue for me.
