So did they cut this feature?

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 6:12 pm

So I was reading some forum and one dude asked how to sabotage a business i.e. how to sabotage the lumber mill, he put a link to a video and in it Todd Howard stated how you could sabotage the lumber mill if you wanted... some dude said it might of got cut. So I'm asking if it's still in or has it been cut? Cause it sounded like a cool feature.

Video is here btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic6dKnv3WdU

Yeah I was wondering this too. Seems like it was cut at some point, which is annoying.

Oh great, so they did it again? Stuffing a load of new features in trailers only to mysteriously cut them at the last minute? Brilliant.

Why overreact? Just about every single game you've ever played with those years of your life will have had features cut, its a part of game development sadly, the developers need to prioritise. Maybe a feature in the game took longer to perfect so they had to skip on others? You need to understand that designing, coding and building a game is probably one of the most complicated processes as a job.

Or maybe you can only sabotage a lumber mill once - as part of a quest. I find this most likely.

I haven't found it in the game, it would of been nice because apprently you could of broke the econemy and made wood alot hard to come by so it would sell for more.

Oh well, its just a little thing compared to the rest of the game, but yeah it is annoying when they cut things they have announced.

Yeah, it's annoying. I spent like an hour trying to figure out how to do it, lol. I wish they'd at least say if they've cut a feature out once they've announced it at least.

I did find that at one of the windmills I could "activate" the wheel at the bottom, nothing happened when I clicked E though.
Maybe you need certain items for this?

This. I'm pretty sure some NPC somewhere in the game hinted that it would be a good thing if some mill would be put out of business to hamper the war from one side. But I can't remember any specifics and can't confirm whether it was an actual quest or just some talk.

There was some watermill i found out in the wild and some women there told me what they supplied and to what places, maybe you have to kill the people who work there?

Go try it and report back here if you notice any differences. (Make a hard save before you do it.)

Anyone found anything on this? I'm still looking but nothing so far. I'm gonna give it a few more hours of exploring and if I don't find anything I'll just gather they cut it.

Whether it's in or not, it was always meant to be a one-off thing for a specific quest. No big deal.

This is the one thing we've found that has been cut so far.

Doesn't sound like it was meant to be a one of thing.

* The economy of "Skyrim" will be better developed than the one in previous games. If you destroy a city's means of income (for instance, by razing their crops), its inhabitants will have to purchase crops from a nearby city, thereby raising prices.
