So, if I die...

Do I lose all my equipment? My only MMO is Runescape, and I remember how you had to select three important items and if you died, you lost everything except those three. So my question is, if I die while playing ESO and respawn, will I still have all my equipment, just a few selected items, or none at all?

I hope I dont lose it all, that was something I hated in Runescape, you pretty much could only travel with a weapon, and two pieces of armor (if you played smart) so that you wouldn't lose it all, but then that made you weaker. I want to be able to wear a full suit of armor and not worry about losing it.

I doubt you will lose equipment on death. In a lot of MMOs you lose none, and simply respawn with penalties e.g. Weakness'.

If we were to see a loss of equipment with ESO, I would be very disappointed, instead a Death Penalty system would be a lot more player-friendly and efficient.

how does this Death-penalty system work?
So if they did the death-penalty you are talking about, it would be like this: I die and respawn weakened. Is that a permanent weakness or temperary

Well, going of the Guild War style, it's effectively a temporary lowering of your health and energy. In GW this debuff existed until you existed the zone you were in, or has your morale boosted (by defeating a boss, etc). It was effective in GW as each area was actually different world-spaces.

It simply lowered your max health cap, and your energy cap. It increased the percentage debuff every time you died in the zone, meaning eventually (if you couldn't win the fight) you'd give up, and leave the zone - at which point your debuff is removed, but the zone is respawned.

I think nothing is known about that. Nowadays devs have moved away from loss of XP or items, GW2 apparently (not playing) or WoW had a temporary debuff that made you basically unable to fight mobs or players, SWTOR...I think hat none at all. You would just klick resurrect and resurrect on spot (with the timer for resurrection increasing on death.). There may be some penalty but I doubt it will be more severe than "Wait 10 minutes now! And stop doing stupid things!"

Yep, in Diablo you'd loose experience if you'd die on harder difficulties. Though in last one you'd only have your gear broken by certain amount.
