Die

When you've seen it all, done it all and lived it. When you've got your family raised, your factions in order, your nation won and your dragons slain. When you've made the divines, the daedra and (most importantly) your friends taken care of. Well it seems to me you're ready to sit back and retire. Retire? RETIRE?!

Are you serious? You're the Dragonborn for crying out laud! Go get yourself killed! This is my idea for a DLC in which you get to give the legend of the Dragonborn the ending it deserves.

After downloading this DLC you'll hear guards talking about how they willed their wills and testaments with the local steward. This gives you the task of filing your own will. Shortly after that you hear about a cursed king of death who commands an army of undead. Long story short: You form a party and go re-kill dude's army. You chase him into his lair and beat the little freak until to death.

Suddenly. Liches. Thousands of them. They keep coming until you're dead. You become a ghost.

Your comrades carry your body to your house and your family places your corpse in the parlor (living room) so all your friends can say their goodbyes. You can wander about all over the place. People and creatures wont attack you. You get to kick around and tell your loved ones that everything's OK with a little haunting here and there or just mess with random people. Then the bury your decomposing ass. From there you go to spend the rest of eternity one of three realms determined by the path you chose in Skyrim. The Void, Oblivion or Sovngard.

Wait. It aint over yet. Turns out the King of Death is now in the perfect position to raise all the dead of Skyrim. You'll have to fight all three of the realms and Skyrim. You'll have to rally the forces of the dead and living alike to strike down the King of Death in one final battle.

After the final battle you get to choose where you spend eternity or you can even come back to life.

Thoughts?

The death of he dragonborn is decided by the roleplayers, and how they want it to happen.

My idea is for there to be something other than a loading screen on the other side.

Not gonna lie, that sounds pretty awesome. Although The Hunting Grounds (Hircine's Realm) would need to be included (along with a few others if I recall correctly) as a world for slain Dragonborns. If those worlds are well-thought out (as in unique quests depending on who you sold your soul to/align yourself with) I could see many players getting excited for a DLC of this nature. Of course many would cry out as its somewhat similar to the orignal Fallout 3 ending, which ended your playthrough.

Personally, I'm hoping for Valhalla for the Dragonborn. Ascend skyward with all your non-barking hounds at your side.

I already know how my character dies :)

Let's just say I did a bit more than a back story.

If this was made into a DLC, What else would you like to see in this quest line?

Obviously the realm of Oblivion needs to be filled out. I'm thinking it should be like Shivering Isles but much larger. The different daedric realms would be connected by portals that your character can cross freely if they connect to realms they have a way to enter. In other wards if you've played both the Thieves Guild and Companions quest you can travle between The hunting Grounds and Evergloam freely. Not saying Nocturnal and Hircine will be happy about it.

This. Don't make a DLC about it. I don't want bethesda chosing how my character dies.

What's the void actually like for those who are sent there? The dark brother and sisters who die. Skyrim talks a lot about death. I want to explore it.

Everyone knows the Dragonborn officially died when Lydia accidentally knocked them off a cliff.

I think it would be great if when you died in battle, instead of reloading the most recent save game, your character would be transported to the halls of Sovngarde. Then maybe a dead hero could come up to you and say: Do you want to a) retire B) reload a save game or c) exit to desktop. Maybe you could wander around and enjoy paradise for a while first.

I could of not said it better myself. Besides, the idea of an "Undead Lord" leading armies of the dead is getting overdone.
