Difference between arrow damage and bow dammage

Can anyone explain to me in detail the difference between bow damage and arrow damage. Also when you have an enchanted weapon how much damage does that do?

For example If you are using a bow that does 8 damage and arrows that do 10 damage, how much are you actually doing? Do you do 8 damage because of the bow? 18 Damage both combine? or do you do 10 damage because of the arrow and the 8 bow damage is for when you bash with it?

Also If you have a sword that does 12 damage and an enchantment on it that does 10 frost damage, how much damage does that do? Does it do 12 damage total (2 normal, 10 Frost) or does it do 22 (12 normal + 10 Frost)?

If anyone could explain this I would be very grateful. Thanks.

ok..

bow does, lets say 20. arrow does 8. add them together, that is damage. your bonuses (I have a 20% bow damage from a cowl) are in the bow already. simple addition. I did not know either btw, but used the HUD to figure it out.

if your sword is 12 with 10 frost, again it is addition. so 12 normal, 10 frost. BUT>>>>> lets say that your opponent has heavy armor and zero resistance to frost....that frost damage will all get through. and the other damage is somehow (don't know math) done differently if they have armor.

so if you have someone who resists frost easily and you know that.....you can swtich weapsons.
