Different House Types?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 9:53 pm

The title of this post may have been a bit confusing so let me clarify,

I would like to know if there will be different house types other than the one in
the trailer.

The one in the trailer looks the architectural style of Whiterun buildings. I am hoping there are a varieties of different houses. I really want a wood cabin like the ones in Riften. I am really looking forward to having me a nice warm private cabin in the mountains of the Pale.

I plan on making a cabin too, along with a villa just for a place to hideout.

I am hoping each hold has a unique architecture style and floorplan. The more unique each house can be, the better.

I'm hoping for styles from all holds. Some people are freaking out and flipping tables that just because the trailer featured only one, that that was the only one there was.
Because we all know they just dump EVERYTHING into a trailer, right?

You apparently customize your house to however you like it, it's kind of like building a character I guess?

I've rewatched the trailer a few times and it looks like it is the same architecture style in different locations. You can see throughout the video, the same architecture style is being built in various locations, like snowy mountains, swamps, and forests. So I am betting there is only this one architecture style.

It would be very disappointing if they are that lazy. Seriously, for what it costs I pretend to be able to choose from more than 1 type of architecture, otherwise this misere add-on should be released for free, not to look like jokers to their fans.

This said, I am still curious enough to look forward to this extra, but will not buy it until I'll have a wider vista on this possible disappointment.

i'm hoping there will be different types, also when watching the trailer when you look at the interiors you will see that it mostly shows whiterun style interiors but at one point when it shows the shrines it looks more like the interior of the riften buildings to me, so either you can choose different styles or maybe that's just what that section looks like, (possibly a basemant)

I would imagine that the different house types will depend on the plot of land you choose to build your house on.

Kind of hoping for cold stone in Morthal... vamp/warriors fortress.castle. Lodge/Farm in Falkreath... werewolf/bards/archers. Tower/Den in Dawnstar mage/thief/assassin.

I definitely want to make a stone house (wherever I want).

I would also like to be able to build a house over a waterfall, and make a hatch which leads right into it, so when those adopted buggers are annoying again I just tell them to go to the basemant to cool off

God I hope so. I bet they will though, it would be kind of pointless to be only to have one type of house.

This concerns me as well especially since the clip of the schmatic in the trailer just said "small house", not a certain type of house. But the one fact that makes me think otherwise is that you can build mulitple properties. There is no way they would expect you to build the exact same style house three times. If they were only including one style I would think that they would have limited the player to only be able to build one house instead of three.

My guess is that there will be three starting schematics, small, medium and large, all different types, large maybe stone/castle type. We will probably have to build them in order as well, i.e. you will only be able to build the small one first and once you have it fully upgraged you will be able to move on to the next. This would stretch out the dlc and add alot more game play for those who are into it. Of course this is just me speculating here.
