Different houses for different purposes?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 10:23 pm

I've only built one house so far, but plan to so all three eventually. So does anyone else use their different houses for different purposes?

Ie: I have Lakeview right now and am using it as my guild hall. It works great with the ultimate follower tweaks where you can dismiss followers and tell them to "hang out" in a specific location. So I have about 5 people living in my house now.

If my character eventually marries, I think I will use the Morthal location for my "family" home; and perhaps just have a small cottage in the Pale where my character can stay for a night or two when he's in the north.

As a side note, I could do this myself but haven't had the time.. I hope someone creates a mod that adds a building location to Winterhold. I'd defninitelyn move my guild hall up they if the option existed! ;)

I am doing that and building different wings in each one.

In Windstad (Morthal) I have it fully renovated for family raising. Salessi (my character) has her husband Farkas and two daughters Runa and Sofia live there. Its got a cow, chickens, fish pond, stable, carriage, garden and smithery on the outside. On the inside it has the main hall, armory, alchemy, inside greenhouse, enchantment. Fully stocked basemant with play area for the kids. I have a housecarl/steward, and a bard. I also moved Lydia there to help watch the place using the UFO "relax for a while" option.

I have the Lakeview place outside Falkreath I'm going to use as my guild hall for followers as well. Uthgerd is my steward and I have the assigned Alik'r housecarl living there. I'm going to have to funish it as Uthgerd is not following my requests (or spending the money I gave her) to funish it. Its got the standard living quarters upstairs, has the bedroom wing. Has a library wing I intend to fill. It also has a trophy room. The home as I mentioned is a work in process. Once its stocked and ready, I'm going to be moving all my followers there via the UFO "relax" option. Likely do it after I finish Dawnguard as Serana won't follow UFO options and refuses to join if you have followers in "relax"

I don't have the third home but thinking of keeping it as the one room cottage for Salessi to use for her and Farka's alone time and what not. Going to keep that one simple.

If I wanted a smaller 'change of pace' house, I'd probably just purchase Breezehome or Honeyside. Since Tiberius already owns the latter, problem already solved for him.
