Difficulty seems unblanaced?

Been playing on expert, level 10 now. Been doin a bit of exploring, some questing and some of the main quest... I've noticed wide swings in difficulty and rarely do I fight any opponents who provide a reasonable challenge... I'm either fighting enemies who barely hurt me and how I can kill in 1-3 hits or I encounter opponents who can kill me almost instantly and whom I inflict very little damage against. Just throwing that out there that maybe a balancing patch may be in order for a better difficulty curve; though I understand that is very hard in a game like this.

I have noticed this too. Kiting, restoration magic and a companion has been my way forward so far

Seems absolutely fine to me. I'm level 13 and there are some enemies I can kill with ease, some which put up a hell of a fight but I can still beat, and some which are just beyond me and can kill me in 1 hit.

I'd hate for them to potentially mess things up with a patch.

Im making sure this game gives me the biggest challenge possible for as long as possible. Playing on the hardest difficulty with my character who uses no magic, just potions and food for health. I very well may come unstuck at some point later on, but for now Im happy it takes me ages and ages to plow through any of the content, as it takes that long for me to look at the stunning visuals anyway.

I disagree with it being fine; due to the fact I encounter virtually no middle ground opponents, everything I fight is either way to strong or way to weak. That is imbalanced

Yeah things seem a little weak to me. I was just scewing around in the DB sanctuary and attacked a member only to have the entire DB sanctuary turn one me. I ended up taking 2 of them out and then surviving for several minutes without using a single potion or healing spell. This was at level 5...I certainly expected these feared assassins to be able to 1 or 2 hit me but that was not the case at all.

I totally prefer the current way over the totally crap level scaling that were in oblivion. AT least you get challenge this time and dont have to mow down endless waves of same lvl mobs that you r.

Odd. I don't think you're asking for balance per-say. Do you play MMOs by any chance? MMOs are made so that you fight intended level creatures who get more life & damage as you get more life & damage so that the difficulty never changes. It is always "balanced"

Old fashioned RPGS, like Morrowind and now Skyrim things don't always revolve around your character. Bandits are Bandits. Bears are Bears. Spriggans are Spriggans.

I am level 8? I'm playing on expert. I have had my challenges here & there. I tear normal bandits up, but if I get two Bandit Chiefs or a Chief and a mage on me I am ducking for cover. Bears eat my face. Spriggans are very difficult. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think it would be detrimental to the game experience if it was changed to a back-and-fourth slug-fest like most MMOs play.
