I'm up to the part of the quest where I have gone with Delphine to Kynesgrove, seen Alduin and then killed the other dragon. Delphine said something about breaking into an embassy then ran off back to Riverwood. I went to talk to her and she says "Not here, downstairs." So I go downstairs and she follows. I talk to her again and she says the exact same thing. I literally cant get anything out of her except for those three words. So I decided to go off and do some other quests, figuring it might be fixed later. But now I cant hand in most of my quests either, they say "Heres your reward" then theres silence, and it stays in the conversation. I have to exit out, but cant do anything.

I read somewhere that its to do with the "Helm of Winterhold" quest, which I picked up earlier. I'd love to go back to my save before that, however I had just deleted it - I only keep three saves at a time because I've also read that having too many saves causes bad lag and crashing. Really, I cant win when it comes to saves. It seems like theres nothing I can do... Should I just restart? Or is there a fix?

Aha, doesnt matter, found a fix! Hopefully this will help everyone. I decided to mess around in Riverwood before I restarted, killing everyone etc. Naturally, I was soon overwhelmed and died. When I died it resumed my save and my screen was flooded with messages about EVERYTHING I'd done since picking up that damned quest. Games back to normal now, I think/hope.
