It is immersion breaking to put a sword thru a bandit or boss and get their armor for your use or sale without even cleaning it, not to mention getting all the gore & etc.off it.
See - I as a simple level 5 player with steel armor smithing perk get a daedric full set off a Boss I just mangled with a two handed axe - and it is clean and pristine and Mr. Belathor gives me top Septim (depending on my speech perks) for this piece of mangled dirty metal. Immersion breaking much?
I request a simple mod, that makes armor unusable or 50% effective (no need to get super fancy) and worth a lot less to sell, until you repair it (if you have the required skill perks) or have an armorer repair it for you.
Not asking for the Mercedes here ( degrading weapon with use, etc). Just the simple, it's ooky and nasty and less useful until I clean or repair it.
This should not affect items you find in a chest, or laying around in a bandit lair or a castle (optional - old draugr or dwemer stashes might be a bit musty and require minor repairs).
