Disabling auto-loading of DLC

Post » Wed Jan 05, 2011 12:35 pm

Any plugin with a corresponding .nam file, ClassicPack.nam for instance, seems to prompt the GECK to automatically check the plugin leading to inadvertant addition to the master list of the active plugin. By renaming/deleting the .nam file, one can prevent this auto-loading. Sorry if this has come up before, but I thought it might spare others the frustration and hadn't read of anything similar.

Cool, I had no idea. :)

Thanks man! This is something we should put on the WIKI, or at least in the manual.

Cheers!

I had to make sure that automatic updating was disabled in Steam for New Vegas - every time I deleted it or renamed it, it would come back right away (or Steam would try to re-update it.) Not sure what was going on there.

Try opening the .nams with Notepad, then ensure the text within does not match the plugin names? That should prevent the auto replacement.
