When trying to play online with a friend fron the UK (i'm in the USA), we keep getting a "Disc Read Error". We have sent invites both ways, and the person who tries to accept the invite always gets this error.

Is this a region error due to differences in software (possibly a software difference directing us to different servers)? If my friend had a USA/NA copy of the game would we still have this problem?

I am currently having the exact same issue when trying to join or host a private match with a friend in Europe and myself (in the US). Assuming the join doesn't fail outright (saying the session is unavailable), once either of us accepts the invite, it loads but quickly fails with the "disc read error".

I noticed the FAQ stickied mentions that matchmaking only searches within your region, but does that region lock also apply to direct invites for private matches?

I got the UK version of the game - to avoid french dubbing - et I can't get a private match with my friend who got the french version, we keep getting the "disk error" message.
I doubt this is a problem of regional matchmaking between France and UK?

Unfortunately, you won't be able to play with a person with a different version in a different territory. Sorry.
