Discovered a glitch that effects all versions of the game, b

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:50 am

I am posting this on the general Doom 3 BFG Edition forum because I believe it affects all versions of the game and want other users in here to also confirm this glitch on PC and 360.

This is a glitch i've discovered in the Doom 3 BFG Edition for PS3 (and possibly PC and 360) that causes the blood spatter effect on the floors and walls to cease working. Making the battles a lot less visceral looking.

It seems when you start the game from a fresh boot (as in from the XMB (or xbox dashboard) the blood spatter effect stains the walls and floor just fine. However, the moment you reload a saved game, the blood effect disappears completely until you reset your whole system and start over.

Here is the video proof of this glitch which I performed myself.

This is an obvious glitch and not intentional so I really urge Bethesda and Id Software to patch this so we get the full experience with all the blood as intended. Thank you!

same thing happens to the PC version. svcks badly. Patch please? it also svcks the PC version has no graphics options. everything is running on medium with no way to change it, And it also svcks that you cannot change the controls on the console versions. At least the PC version you can edit the config file. Way to drop the ball id

Good to know (and bad to know) that it's a big in all versions of the game, means Id Software should patch it for sure. Are you listening Id?? Were the fans who paid good money for this "enhanced" port and we are pretty disappointed in the result! Do the right thing!

Very interesting. I will have to have a look at my 360 version. It is a real shame that we can spot something in 1 day that QA cannot fix after months of playtesting. However, I would be more worried about the load times on the PS3. They are double the length of the 360...A HD install is needed ASAP.

I have the PSN version, so it is completely installed on the HDD, but the loading times are still long as hell!

How many seconds to load a level? There's people on gamefaqs.com claiming it's 10-12 seconds for the psn version but i call lies on that one.

Haven't timed it yet. Maybe I'll do it later, but it feels horribly long! so does saving..

edit: it took 21 seconds from Pressing X on "continue game" until the map was actually loaded

Yea, that's definitely half the time the retail disc takes to load. They definitely need to add in an install option.

It happens to me too on the PS3 version.

And there is some other glitch I suffer from. In ROE when I activate the heart artifact all the smoke effect from guns on the walls and floor disappear. I shoot the shotgun and there is nothing on the walls, the same with other weapons. DISAPPOINTING !!! ID FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY !!!

I just tested this glitch and successfully reproduced it and made a video of it in action...

I will also add it to the list of glitches and issues that need fixing. Are you listening Bethesda??
