So I just finished the main quest, and I'm a bit confused.

-Why can't I just kill either the Imperial General or Ulfric stormcloak and end the war? I tried to kill him and he is a quest character I guess.

-What exactly is Savenguard(sp?)? It looks kind of like The Shivering Isles.

-At the end, the dragon leader of the Greybeards was saying how it was a great triumph or whatever, but I just don't feel like it was worth it for my character, I didn't even get a reward.

- Main character, yep. Annoying thing about choice-based games is inevitably, there is a limit on freedom.

- It's the place dead nords go, it's essentially the same place Hades runs in Greek Mythology (the underworld) where Alduin absorbs the souls of the dead to gain power.

- Agreed. You get a new shout, and it's kinda like DAMN I just saved the world, and I don't even get a credits sequence.

Some points for me:

-I love the thief part of the quest,

-I wish you could actually see the entire journey when you fly the dragon to Savengard (with an option to "skip" it, as it would be a fairly long journey)

-Getting The Elder Scroll wasn't as much as an event as I would have hoped, BUT - that place you get it is freaking huge and reminded me of Morrowind (the odd shaped plants and trees - almost Avatar looking).

W-wait, you get to go to Sovenguard? Do you die or something at the end of the game?

You get a dragon to help you fly to a portal to Sovenguard.

So there's good dragons in this game that you can fly? Can you fight from them as well?

No you can't fly them. There is only one dragon NPC that can fly you somewhere, and there is a cutscene that will fly you to that place that ONE time. There is another friendly NPC dragon and he just talks to you about Alduin/Greybeards, you cannot fly on his back.

When you finish the game the dragon that helps fly you to sovenguard will also help you fight other dragons/giants/mammoths (whatever you like). You just shout his name, and he will come. But only when you defeat alduin.
