Disenchanting Shield of Solitude - Intended?

I don't think the ability to disenchant the shield for the stronger MR effect was intended.

For one, the shield of Ysgrammor can't be disenchanted, and other similar one of a kind magic items can't be disenchanted either.

Another thing, when making Identical rings, I found the one with the higher MR to be valued less than the ring with the normal MR rate.

Diamond ring- 23% Magic resist, 54% Fire resist VALUED: 2222 gold
Diamond ring- 29% Magic resist, 54% Fire resist VALUED: 1328 gold

????

if the values are are jacked up, then I have a sneaking suspicion that the stronger MR enchantment wasn't intended to be present in the enchantment menu, and thus not calculated for its gold value.

So unless someone gives me a half believable reason why I should keep this enchantment, I'm going to load the save before I disenchanted the shield.

The stronger Resist Magic effect has been there since day 1. It wasn't introduced by any recent updates. Whether or not it was intended, that will likely remain unknown until Bethesda either says something about it or changes it.

Enchanted item values have always been a little backwards, with item values decreasing as Enchanting skill increases. Since enchantment strength increases with skill, it's not unusual to see a stronger Resist Magic enchant be worth less than a lower magnitude enchantment. This has also been true since day one but is more clearly not following desired behavior. Sadly, Bethesda has neither commented on the matter or made any intent to alter it known.

Oh wow. Didn't know it was that bad.

Still the enchantment to me seems unintentional. Think I'll avoid it
