Interesting, so it looks like at least part of it will be in an age-of-sail type setting (swords, flint/matchlock pistol, sailing ship in background).

It looks a little Bioshock-y. I assume some of that is the use of the Unreal engine...

Is that a flintlock pistol in his hand?

Looks very exciting, like a sort of steampunk or alternate history game world.

Love the uniform as well.

I don't think it looks anything like broshock & I am wondering why you think that? The art style is completely different.

Now lets see what info we can pull from this shot. It has a flintlock pistol so that suggest some kind of Renaissance setting mix that with the cover and I say we might be looking at a steampunk setting (The crane also looks like it has a motor on it).

Can anyone tell what is behind the guy? It kind of looks like wrapped bodies, but I can't tell for sure.

The mask suggest the old trick of putting a mask on someone so you don't have to animate their lips.

There is a what looks like a water tower in the back. I can't think of the last time I saw a water tower in a game, so that kind of makes me think we will have some kind of power to use on that water tower. Maybe exploding it or doing something with the water in it.

@nomotog, Those are bodies. I can see a rope tied around the feet of one and it looks like blood stains on the fabric.

I believe it's just cargo ...
But bodies is a good guess as well.

The dynamic lighting (mainly the highlights), motion blur and colouring seem very post-produced to me.

Looks a little Brink-y, especially the character model.

No. The Crossing was never finished. Sadly. Would've been one of a kind, really. The entire Crossplayer-concept sounded so promising! And I bet it could've worked with the entire ValvE apparatus behind it.

Why do you think that?
The motion blur/depth of field and Lighting (Highlights mainly) make it look shopped.

I think especially the character model does not.

Brink-y? Character?
Naah..
The screen and the game itself looks more Bioshock-y than Brink-y IMO.

Good to see im not the only one that wandered over here from the New Vegas and/or Skyrim forums. :)

On Topic: Not really sure if i should be excited or not, the information that i have read and seen so far seems promising though :). i'll just have to wait and see, and cross my fingers.

only reason im not sure is i dont think i have enough info to get worked up over yet :).

Well, I've got a link for all German Speaking guys and gals... since it's not a mag-scan or transcription I hope the link is Okay... otherwise SORRY... remove it, kill me (well, no good idea)

And so it starts:

OUCH!

Washed-out cartoon textures like WoW? After that first screenshot I had expected a dark, realistic style. I mean I'll still buy the game! If it comes even close to Dark Messiah it's going to be as good or even better than Human Revolution. But I want to be honest and say that the look of the game, if these screenshots are any indication, is a huge disappointment and I'm not talking about technology, I mean purely the art style.

P.S. Of course the crisp layer of detail in a real screenshot would make it look better than these blurry videostills, I'm aware of that.
