Seems about right, from what's been shown so far and the moderate-but-not-too-much amount of marketing.

Right about the time I'd guessed! And, more importantly, right before my birthday. Assuming this is true, I guess I know what I'll be getting this year! (and to be clear, these retail dates are very often just bogus guesses, so this might actually be nothing).

Neither the ratings nor the release date have been finalized. When we have final information, we'll share it with everyone.

I could tell that it would be later in the year rather than sooner. In one of the recent interviews, someone asked Harvey Smith what the release date would be. There was a long pause before he answered that it would be in 2012. The pause and his body language give it away somewhat. If the date had been more firm and closer, his body language would have been different, his answer quicker. I'd put it closer to December based on his body language. He seemed almost unsure that it would make 2012.

This date made me nervous on reading it. I want this game to do well, but the date poises it to compete flanked by Borderlands 2 AC3 and Bioshock: Infinite (assuming all dates quoted are what will be used). If there was a way for them to pull the trigger on July, Dishonored would own that month no question. This is extremely wishful thinking though.

Bethesda needs to establish a date, and soon. Everyone was afraid to release their game near Skyrim's 11/11/11.

Well, I guess it still works. Although, I would have wanted if it is a little bit later.

Skyrim was a game in an established franchise. Dishonoured is a new IP.

It seems like a good date.

Borderlands has a significantly different demographic, from what I gather, so the two games shouldn't overly interfere with each other. Now, if it were coming out anywhere near AC, I could see there being a problem.

Bioshock and AC3 are October. What comparisons do you see being thrown around on the interwebz? Hmm...maybe that's the thinking you sly devils! (I know this rumor got the kaibosh already but I wanted an excuse to say sly devils :))

Ah, see ... I expected Dishonored to be out October or November. Bethesda is making the right move by releasing it well ahead of AC. And Bioshock (which I forgot about because, well, it was good the first time around, and now it's gone and turned itself into a joke).

I disagree with the Bioshock part. Bioshock was a great game. I have not played Bioshock 2, so I cannot judge, but I have heard that it was worse than the original, and I believe it. Infinite, however, has a completely new storyline, and looks as if it will be just as good, if not better, than the original. Sorry for going off topic.

I find Bioshock 2 to be significantly better in almost every regard. Better art, more belivable characters and situations, stonger narrative themes, and tighter, dynamic combat. Play it. It's absolutely great.

On topic, I really hope that Dishonored does not release near Infinite, as both groups are aiming towards a similar crowd. Infinite's crowd is significantly larger though because of the mainstream appeal that the series has achieved. I could see that really screwing Dishonered over.

As I said, I can't judge Bioshock 2 as I haven't played it. Dishonored is releasing (if the date is to be believed) three weeks before Infinite.
