distinct races

yeah its a mod suggestion...

i don't know why but in oblivion i KNEW what race i was.. ppl kept mentioning it to me and treating me differently... or at least i thought they did o.O

in skyrim no matter which race i play i get the same treatment, quests, feel. to be fair, tho, they do mention it sometimes. and once in combat they shouted at my khajiit that they will make a bag or something out of his fur...

in any case, i suggest a mod that will give you a different expirience depending on your race. not an overhaul, just little stuff that increase immersion while subliminally remind you what race you are.. coz sometimes i think i am "human" and not a redguard or nord or imperial or w/e.

1) you walk in the city and you hear a bunch of ppl talking about you behind your back.. for example if you are a redguard you hear a woman telling to another woman "is it true what they say about redguards and the size of their... feet?" (a silly example, ain't it?) or if you are an orc you hear a bunch of ppl laughing at you behind your back about how orcs are stupid and imitating a dumb orc.

2) race benefits! if you are khajiit, the khajiit caravan will comment about you being their "brother" or something and offer you a discount. imperials get discounts at solitude.

3) ppl like you more depends on your race. if you are a high-elf, run away from stormcloaks.

ppl of the mod community... SHARE YOUR IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!! about my idea tho.. not your own different ones that are unrelated. :x

I'd personally like to see more gameplay/stat changes based on race than just the immersion aspect, but that's just me (I would love to see Race Balancing Project ported to Skyrim). Actually, I really hate mod-added dialogue because you can always tell it's new, but that's just a personal phobia of mine.

That said, I do wish you got different treatment in certain situations (Khajiit traders deal more favorably with you if you're a Khajiit [like you said], more interactions with Argonian dock workers if you are Argonian, more events in the Grey Quarter as a Dark Elf, better Thalmor interactions as a High Elf, and more easily accepted in the Orc strongholds as an Orc), so that would be really nice. I do miss all the racial slurs they used to toss around in the other games though.

I like your idea of better persuasion rolls based on same race a lot.

not rlly a phobia.. i fear bethesda has brainwashed you with their limited voice actors! true its better than oblivion with their... 3 voice actors, but i just don't like 2 hear like 10 npc's with the same voice, let alone same dialogue (guards)...

as long as its good voice acting, you won't mind it. trust me :P

Haha, fair enough. There's just this part of me that thinks "I shouldn't be able to tell if this is from a mod or from the game." I wouldn't mind seeing new dialogue given to everyone in a relatively random manner (I mean it would still have to match the race/six and whatnot), like new guard dialogue and whatnot, but it's when I mod adds an NPC voiced by a new person that I find myself thinking "This was recorded in somebody's basemant" (no matter how good it sounds). It's things like these that make me think I'm OCD <_<

That said, I do fully support your ideas, and would love to see how they may be integrated into a future project.
