DLC Needs More Story Twists and Turns (Oblivion Spoilers Ins

Post » Mon Sep 10, 2012 4:23 am

I don't want to spoil Skyrims awesome twists and turns during very specific quests. But I do wish there were more of them.

I loved how in Oblivion, the vampire hunters in the city were actually vampires - which you could have noticed if you paid attention during the quest. The mages guild master tricked you into drowning yourself. A missing person was trapped inside his own painting. An orc tricks you into becoming prey for a cruel hunting game. Bandit women use seduction to try and trick you into being robbed.

^^^ these things were awesome, I would like more things like that.

Blood On the Ice is the only Skyrim quest which really has an in depth complex plot so far, but I won't spoil it, and please don't post skyrim spoilers here.

I think the next DLC shoudl have lots of complex questlines where you can be tricked by NPC's etc.

Twists are always cool... But avoid "Artistic Integrity" and fell in the same trap that Mass Effect 3 did (They weren't artistic, and they sure as hell didn't have any integrity :yuck: )

Listen the BSN is already full of so called 'fans' bashing ME3. I for one really enjoyed the Mass Effect franchise as a whole and have said multiple times in this forum that it is my fav game so please dont bring that stuff from BSN over here.

That wasn't a twist though, that was more of a deus ex machina, or one of those writing faux pas - could have been fixed with proper foreshadowing and all that. Twists are fun if they are foreshadowed cleverly. The vampire quest in oblivion was excellent, as any keen observer would have noted that they were only ever up at night and the immortal blood and other different clues were around there.

Oh yes, I really slapped my head because one should have seen it coming. I agree, altough I haven't gotten very far in Skyrim so far, never really seen unexpected 180* turnings but more surprising details than in all my Oblivion time combined.

Oh there are 180 turns in skyrim, but I like the idea of there being more like in Oblivion. Pretty much every quest put you on your toes.

Hmm... If I remeber correctly only the leader was a Vampire and the others werent. I'm still with you tho. I hope the next DLC is written better, has more twists and hopefully more choices. The end of Dawnguard is still bugging me.
