DLC should there be a New race addon

Post » Thu Aug 30, 2012 4:11 am

iv noticed alot of new races mods for the pc and i think they should try making a new race for the PS3/360 owners of the game
races like lunari look amazing but only pc gamers get to have so many good things all i ask is just a little addition of a new race id happily
play the game again..like i have dont countles times to try them all out (and yes mostly female every time)

what do you guys and girls think, what race would you like added into the game? there are loads of races. {PS sorry for any bad spelling}

How would bethesda explain the Lunari race? It wouldn't be very lore-friendly :lmao: .

Im not into the lore that much, i know only very little... Im not sure if this "Lunari" is in the lore or not, but i doubt gamesas would add new races outside the lore, or just new playable races in general.

I don't think they'll ever legitimately add a new race. There's nothing at all in the vast amount of lore suggesting there are any more races except the Snow Elves who were enslaved, torturted and became twisted and the Dwemer/Dwarves who got greedy in their search for immortailty and made their entire race extinct. There are several playable races. More than most games have anyway.

The only other races that would be playable would probably be any of the Akavir races and the Moarmer. I doubt Sloads would play well, but who knows?

I personally wouldn't want any more playable races unless we go to Akavir.

Seriously though, playing a dwemer would be pretty interesting... I'm sure they'd be highly proficient in the crafting trees... But, that's probably something for another TES.

Lunari: A race of sixy women that like to wear leaves. They are from the universe called a mod and we are just trying to make our game sixy!

Besides it being lore breaking, how would they explain the reason behind a new race showing up out of the blue, via dialogue.

It's difficult to justify the sudden appearance of a new race, especially one added in a DLC instead of in a future game.

The Orcs and Imperials are newcomers to the series; orcs were previously an enemy-only race in Arena and Daggerfall, and Imperials... just showed up one day claiming to have always been there. Of course, there's more wiggle room, i think, as the Lore hadn't become as involved as it is now when they debuted.

If gamesas were going to add a new playable race, they'd likely choose one of the following if they weren't going to make a brand-new one...

(almost) anything from Akavir.
The Falmer. Yeah, they're always hostile now, but so were the Orcs in their first few appearances.
The Ayleids. Last sighting was about 1,000 years before the current games, but they aren't as ironclad dead as the Dwemer.
The Maormer. Gonna have to explain how they got to Tamriel in good numbers, however.
The Imga. They live in Valenwood. They're pretty much confirmed to be sentient.
The Sload. Problem is, and I quote, "There is no word in the Sload tongue for adventure; the closest equivalent is said to mean "tragic disaster"." A player-controlled Sload would be considered both villanious and bat**** insane by their standards (since most players won't play as methodical as Sload are reputed to be.)

Note that these are all races that gamesas have mentioned in lore.

The new races thay players add I will never use. Personally I do not like them at all.
I would like if they added some lore friendly races that would be acceptable for me.

Dremora, or someone made a mod for a skeletal race, if I could be a mage like dragon priest I would certainly not object to it.

If you're an Alyied you'd be beating off scholars here and there, literally being swarmed by them, plus you'd better hope that you don't somehow end up meeting a certain fox.
Falmer would again have the scholar problem, plus a couple of conservative Nords will have a very severe go at you.
Imga require capes, we don't have capes officially yet, so that'll be a problem (plus a massive mesh-redesign for armors).
Lilmothiit (fox-like people) are probably extinct.
Sload, no levitation.
Dwemer, too giant-robot-y.

and Imperials... just showed up one day claiming to have always been there.

not exactly, Cyrodiil wasnt an option in Daggerfall. So Imperials were infact there just not seen or givin as an option.

It would be interesting if some more news was introduced on an ancient race mentioned in Dawnguard. I cannot post a spoiler icon I am on my phone so I will leave it at that.

I think the Dwemer are better off gone, it adds to the mystery of their race. Besides they transferred their race into the Numidiums skin and that thing was utterly destroyed.
