Dodge and stamina based tanking?

Post » Thu Mar 21, 2013 2:58 am

I just found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLA62bdLtE4&feature=player_embedded#!
At 8:23 she start talking about how she mixes up heavy and medium armor, because she wanted to have both survivability and mobility. She wanted to go for a stamina heavy build, so she could rolldodge, block, etc alot. What do you guys think? Is this a hint towards dodgebased tanking and other stuff like that? If that turns out to be true, that would be awsome and it will help in making tanking a more appreciated role in the group, apart from just meatshield.

Considering that all the rolls and dodge are skills based I wouldn't say it's far fetched idea.. Although it wont work in the same line as a dodge stacked rogue tank in WoW.

She is talking about pvp btw

And so yea mobility is based on stam and the med armor allows for better stam management. Anyone can roll using doubletap but med armor will stretch out that precious stam bar more than some clunky heavy stuff.

The class system does sound extremely flexible. No reason why a "Tank" can't be a heavy armor mace wielding Sorceror. I still prefer my character to be a more traditional type so I will go medium armor Nightblade with duel-wield and bow but the sky seems to be the limit. This does open the possibility for players to really create a horrible mish-mash of a character but it sounds like it will be relatively easy to correct any mistakes or change your preferences.

But if you would combine it with heavy armor, you have both survivability and mobility, which could allow for a different approach in tanking I guess. Not sure if you can dodge everything though.
