Does Anybody Block the Sun?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:08 pm

So, I have nearly a year's worth of sunblock in my inventory, but I don't use it for fear of killing off every town in the game. That said, it rustles my jimmies that I have to stunt my own power for the good of the cattle. I'm level 81, me, my wife, my dog, and two kids now live outside the cities, and I'm the master of every guild in the game. They have every type of merchant down in the Thieve's Guild, and they each have tons of gold, so it's not like merchants would be inaccessible.

So, a few questions:
1. Do sunhallowed arrows decrease attack rates for the day?
2. Do vampires also go into homes and inns when attacking?
3. How lonely do the towns feel when everybody that goes outside has been brutally murdered?
4. Do you guys think that this could break future DLCs Bethesda releases (iow, it kills someone off that the DLC was reliant upon)?

And yes, I've used the search feature. :)

They only attack towns if you block out the sun, it happens a lot. (There is a rare glitch that causes Vampires to attack even after completing dawnguard without the bloodcursed arrows..supposedly, people say it happens but show no proof)

It increases the rate of town attacks, you have to be at them though, I think.

My towns are still full..except for adrienne avennici, she got slaughtered when I first started Dawnguard sadly then I got wise to never go near the town gates.

I think they'll add new NPCs or the NPCs are essential.

1 I don't know.
2 No
3 Just abandoned. Nothing more.
4 Yes, I do believe so indeed. Unless Bethesda has a soft spot for serial killers game and provide multiple people income to get a quest done. Think about Ysolda who isn't essential up to the point you can (spoilers) sell Sleepy Tree Sap, or what's it called to her. That might indicate that a npc's can be marked essential when a quest need them to be just that. If you've killed thatvnpc or it had simply died by digital nature than most likely you can't trigger the quest or it simply will be marked as failed.

They actually attacked Solitude once after the questline was complete, if I remember correctly. That's what happened to me, anyway. I'm beginning to think that the Thieve's Guild might become my one stop post apocalyptic shopping center.

@Leto:
I've completed every main quest and major side quest in the game, already. That said, Final Death might be correct. Looking back at every previous DLC, I've never been locked out by a person's death...

They'll never make it so you won't be able to play a dlc because of your psychotic outburst. Vanilla quests, sure. But not dlc quests. They've never done that in their newer games, and they made sure with Hearthfire recently that nothing like that happened.

they attack in the day sometimes as well without a glitch, in my opinion a glitch from the blood cursed arrows possibly?

It's happened to me before but not quite as often as night attacks.
